Historic Sing Lee Laundry Artifact Exhibit
Lobby of The (Hotel) Stockton, 133 E. Weber Avenue ,
Stockton, CA 95203
In the 19th century, the site of what is now the City Centre Cinemas was the heart of Stockton’s first Chinatown. Archeologists from Sonoma State University excavated the site in 2000 and completed an exhibit of selected artifacts from the laundry, which was operated by Chinese immigrants from the 1890s to the 1930s. The (Hotel) Stockton is just one block from the original site of the laundry.
