This local Mexican restaurant is one of the best in town. Tucked away in the corner of a shopping center off of Hammer Lane this spot is always busy. The el pastor tacos and tortas are delicious! You can even stand to the side of the ordering line and peak over the counter and watch as they make your meal. Load up on all the different types of salsa at the salsa bar while you wait for your food to be ready and find a seat in the restaurant to enjoy your meal.

I haven't been to Tacos Chapala in over 4 years since the last time I was in Stockton. I was in the mood for something really good so this place was right on the way home. I ordered their all meat burrito and boy, they did not disappoint! It was made fresh in front of you and everything was just on point. The next time I am back in Stockton, I will be going back to Tacos Chapala for not only their great service, but mainly for their awesome food!

Food was fantastic as usual!! My favorite go to when I have guest in town. By far, one of the best I’ve had since moving to Stockton 5 years ago. The seating is limited so you’ll have to enjoy your food inside, outside or in your car 😅.

Had the burrito supreme ? Was good but the beans and rice lacked the flavor I was looking for and I got carne asada was good. Might order something different next time . Worth the price and size but I would ask them to grill the burrito because the cheese wasn't melted in the burrito.

How have I slept on Tacos Chapala for this long?! After Googling “Best Nachos in Stockton” and scrolling through the photos— I liked the look of the nachos at Tacos Chapala best. Since it was Sunday Football, I placed an order To Go over the phone. They do require you to pay in advance with a card for orders over $40, but I find that completely reasonable. We ordered Al Pastor Nachos, Carne Asada Nachos, Carne Asada Fries, 6 Al Pastor Tacos with Pineapple, and a small Ceviche cup. The cost was around $60, which is more than fair. When we went to pick them up, I was surprised at the size of the restaurant. It is big and there are plenty of tables to dine in! There is also a small seating area outside, which is cool. My favorite part of the restaurant has to be the huge fresh salsa bar. They have at least half a dozen different types of salsas— all of which I tried and loved. The white creamy salsa though? MMMmmm! Everything we ordered was delicious. We will definitely be coming back!

This was my first time trying their food and I must say the steak burrito was delicious. My sons had steak tacos and lil one wanted some Spanish rice. Service was great and they even had an outside patio with plenty space to enjoy your meal. Definitely going back to try the chile verde. It’s located in the rear of the parking lot across from Super Walmart. Lots of parking and seating as well. I just wish they sold tamales and they ran out of chile verde so I have to get there earlier.

Probably the best taco shop in north Stockton! Everything is delicious, amd they have a salsa bar too and you can pick whatever you want to take with your order. There may be a little wait because it's an extremely popular place but it's definitely worth it.

Good tacos and sauces, however they got a little stingy on there sauce cups, I order 20 tacos and only got 2 cups for sauce, and I mean the little cups, they about 2 inches in diameter. Other than that the birria meat was delicious with its dipping juice 😋.

Moved away from Stockton in Dec 2019, been dying for Carna Asada street tacos cilantro & onion with the creamy avocado jalapeno salsa. Covid has affect them like everyone else...still good just not the same

Slightly overpriced. Came in highly recommended and was told the food was very generously portioned. Not impressed with the amount of meat on the asada fries. Also the burritos ingredients were cool enough to not melt the cheese. Took a long time to get our order. Some people behind us were even served first.

Great tacos...haven’t tried anything else. My favorite are the Birria Queso Taco’s and my wife loves the Pastor tacos that comes with pineapple. Wait is usually 10-15 minutes though :(

The tortas are very good they grill the bread of both sides and the meat is tender. Good salsa. I like at the salsa bar that they have cucumbers. They have no radishes but the cucumbers will do. Thanks again we'll see you soon.

The food was good however there was not too much variety as far as the menu and they did not have like tortillas flour tortillas to go with my order. And I found it kind of weird that they didn't have homemade flour tortillas it was more like a taco truck than it was a restaurant more fast food and there was no combo plates on the menu. David three stars because the prices weren't that bad for the food the quality it wasn't the best I had but it was still pretty good. And they were very attentive to customers also.
