A romantic Valentine’s Day program is promised by the Amelia Piano Trio for its Sunday afternoon Stockton debut on February 14 at the Faye Spanos Concert Hall at University of the Pacific.
Friends of Chamber Music resumes its current season at 2:30 p.m. with the trio that the late violin virtuoso Isaac Stern took under his wing ten years ago and mentored into a Carnegie Hall debut in New York.
In their Stockton debut, the trio will be heard in the only piano trio by Claude Debussy, his Trio in G Major; an unexpected trio from the American composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein; and one of the very few chamber works by Frederic Chopin, his Trio in G Minor (Op. 8).
Immediately after the concert, the audience is invited to a reception in the rehearsal hall behind the concert hall, located on Pacific Avenue at Dave Brubeck Way.
Non-subscription tickets at $25 will be available in the lobby. Students of any age are admitted free, as are children ages five and above.
FOCM concerts are presented in cooperation with Pacific and its Conservatory of Music.
