Haggin Museum : Jesse Hendricks - Spanish Guitar

Event Type: Music/Concerts

Date: Sunday, March 21, 2010
Time: 3:00pm - 4:00pm

Location: Haggin Museum-Victory Park

An exciting presence on the local art scene, Jesse Christian Hendricks brings the lovely sounds of classical Spanish guitar to a spring afternoon at the museum.

Last year he filled the Haggin Room with the sights of Spain and the Mediterranean; this spring he brings a new program featuring a journey through South America to our Sunday music series. Join us again for lush sounds and romance.

The Spanish guitar is one of the most melodic and beautiful of all instruments. Its subtle sounds captivate an audience while the rough sounds of the rasgueado excite listeners.

Hendricks has been playing guitar for more than 13 years. His studies began with folk music, then jazz guitar, and finally classical guitar with Terry Mills, professor of guitar at the University of the Pacific.

In 2002 Hendricks began performing guitar for numerous events in the Central Valley and Bay Area. In 2007 he completed his first full-length CD. He currently divides his time working as a high school teacher, giving guitar lessons and performing at local wineries, galleries and restaurants.
