DESCRIPTION:

“I like the idea of some unifying thing that ties us together despite distance and differences,” explains gallery owner Robin Knowlton. “It’s why I wanted to organize show around a group of artists, all painting on the same day, but in their own way, time and place.”

In that spirit, Knowlton reached out to artists on both coasts, with a few from the middle of the country, to bring together the 24 artists in “ONE RANDOM DAY.”

“Traditionally, many galleries feature small works at this time of the year. I wanted to find a different twist on an end-of-the-year show and this idea seemed perfect. We assume that most of the paintings will be plein air, but there are a few artists who have already said they will be working on studio paintings for the show.”

August 28, 2012, was the “random day” drawn from a hat at the end of last year. There will be anywhere from 24 – 48 paintings in the show.
