The award-winning St. Mary's High School Theatre Department will present the acclaimed 1990 Tony Award-winner for Best Play The Grapes of Wrath, October 6-14, 2012 at Stockton Civic Theatre.

Adapted by Frank Galati from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by John Steinbeck, this epic production tells the classic story of the Joad family's Depression-era travels from Oklahoma's dust bowl to California, where they hope to find work and a bright new future. "This is a very unique theatrical experience," says director Kevin Costello, adding "the students will provide live music and singing throughout the play, plus we will use a real Depression-era truck onstage, as well as water effects to create rain and a flood. We are truly excited for the community to see this!"
