The Stockton Opera Guild is pleased to announce our 35th Emerald Anniversary Gala to be held Sunday April 11, 2010 at Stockton Golf and Country Club, beginning at 6 p.m.
The evening will feature fine California wines, hors d’oeuvres, an elegant dinner paired with wine and locally procured ingredients, as well as an exciting musical program.

Peter Jaffe, music director and conductor of the Stockton Symphony, and music director of the Stockton Opera, will once again serve as Master of Ceremonies.

The Stockton Opera Guild is going green. New this year, and in keeping with our emerald toned theme, is a special fund raising raffle. Make a $20 donation and get a chance to win $1000 cash! Just 500 tickets will be sold and you need not be present to win. Everybody loves green.

Thanks to the enthusiasm and generous support of our community, Stockton has enjoyed live opera performances annually for 40 years. The Guild’s fund raising events, like the Gala, help to underwrite these productions, which in past years have included Don Giovanni, The Barber of Seville, Tosca, La Boheme, Carmen, Die Fledermaus, Madama Butterfly, and many others.

Proceeds from the evening also provide scholarships for talented local music students who wish to pursue careers in opera.
Opera is the most grand and elaborate of the performing arts, and a rich and beautiful component of the arts and cultural offerings here in Stockton.
