2012 Photography Exhibition: Street Photography

Many people are drawn to street photography, but the challenge is to capture what is in front of the camera in a new and different way. As the judge for this year’s competition I had the privilege of seeing the work of many photographers. From straightforward documentary, to digitally manipulated images, the creative energy of the medium enthralls, astounds, and surprises us.

What you will find in this selection of photographs is work that will make you laugh, some that will bring you to tears, but most importantly are the images that challenge how you think about the medium. Good photography is about taking chances and the award winners in this group are exploring new possibilities.
This competition and resulting exhibition is a celebration of the diversity of street photography.
