Search Tips
To search VisitStockton.com, type in a few descriptive words and click the search
button for a list of relevant results. The search component returns listings
that
contains
the words in your query.
Automatic "AND" Queries
By default, the search component returns listings that include any of your search terms.
There is no need to include "AND" between terms. For example, to
search for listing information, enter:
breakfast dinner
Elm Street cuisine
take-out
Note: The search component is not case sensitive. Elm Street and elm street are
treated
as the same search.
Automatic Word Variations (Stemming)
The search component uses stemming without the need to
support wildcard searches. In other words, the search component uses the words that you enter
in the search box, and if that word isn't found, the search component will look for a similar
match, if available.
Searches
for "update" will
yield "updating" or "updater" if the original search term
is not found. If in doubt, try all
forms:
update, updating, updater
Phone Number Searches
You can search a listing by phone number in a variety of ways. For example,
to
find (123)123-1234, type:
(123)123-1234, 123.123.1234, 1231231234
-or without the area code-
123-1234, 123.1234, 1231234
Note: Make sure that you do not include any spaces in-between the numbers
that make up your phone number.
