Stockton is playing host to a wide array of sports tournaments in the next several months.
If you love to watch a round or two of golf in person, then the next several months will be fun for you here in Stockton as five different tournaments will be held here between October of 2021 and June of 2022.
Visit Stockton is the primary sponsor for this tournament, held by UOP. A dozen university golf teams will make their way to The Reserve at Spanos Park as they compete to bring the trophy back to their school. Expect some pretty tough competition here as this is one of the first tournaments being held after schools have gone back to in-person learning. There's a lot of pent-up competitiveness waiting to be released.
This tournament has added importance for the teams who participate, it will give them a preview of Brookside Golf and Country Club. Why is that helpful? Because Brookside is also where the Division 2 Regionals tournament will be held later in 2022, so teams who compete here in February and make it to the regionals will know the course a little more.
This is the regional division tournament where Cactus Thaw participants got their first look at Brookside Country Club. Expect some really impressive scores at this event, as you're looking at some of the top golfers in the division, some of whom already have that advance knowledge of the course. This should be an entertaining show.
Stockton will be filled with top young golfers again just a few weeks after the D2 Women's regional tournament, this time as the Men's Division 1 athletes make their way to The Reserve at Spanos Park. This one is for all the marbles, as the winners advance to the national championship tournament, so expect some expert-level golf to be played.
From great golfers to golfing for a great cause, the inaugural tournament is raising funds for the Stockton Sports Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit that uses money to help bring more sporting events to the city. These events provide tremendous economic impact to Stockton by attracting large amounts of participants and their families who spend time and money. The fundraiser tournament will be held at The Reserve at Spanos Park.

Some of the most promising young wrestlers in the region will be competing at Stockton Arena in a whole series of matches. This post-season tournament will give the winners bragging rights for the season, while also propelling qualifiers to the state tournament in Bakersfield later in the year. The athletes will certainly be giving it their all over the course of the two-day tournament.
The top four teams in the WCC will battle it out over the course of three days at Banner Island Ballpark. The stakes couldn't be higher as the top team will come away from the tournament as the WCC champs. If you're a baseball fan, this event will be incredible as some of the top young players of tomorrow will be out on the field. You'll likely be watching several future big leaguers before they make it to the show.
The top baton twirlers in the country will be competing for the right to call themselves the best in the US at the Stockton Arena & Civic Auditorium. Don't fool yourself, this isn't what you'd see kids playing with, this sport is incredible as they do things with the baton that seem to defy both gravity and human capability. Part gymnastics, part art and all sport, come see competitors of various ages perform some impressive feats.
