32nd Earth Day Fall Festival’s Focus is on Climate Action.
Stockton and San Joaquin County will celebrate Earth Day again by holding a Fall Festival on Sunday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This outdoor event in Victory Park is delayed from the regular April Earth Day national holiday event done as a virtual Zoom activity earlier this year. Since “Earth Day is Every Day”, we are excited to celebrate our planet and work on green issues a second time in 2021. It is a fun day for kids and families, and admission is free.
“Climate Action Now” is the theme of this area’s premier environmental event and will focus on educating local residents in pursuing activities that will help our planet overcome climate change. Attracting thousands each year, the Festival continues to grow larger each year as problems and issues, including global warming, air quality, clean energy and pandemic diseases, have become more diverse.
Warm-up for the day with stretching during a relaxing hour of Yoga on the park green starting at 9 a.m. Local cyclists, young and old, can peddle to the Festival and secure your bicycles in a safe bike corral staffed by the San Joaquin Bike Coalition. Local Scientists and concerned citizens will “March for Science” at 10 a.m. with a Parade circling the park advocating for our planet. Great Entertainment will be featured at the Festival starting at 11 a.m. A variety of local area bands and cultural groups will be there to captivate and delight attendees. An organic drum circle will close the day at 4 p.m. on a percussive note.
