Jazz Show with Tamir Hendelman & Ralph Moore

University of the Pacific's Conservatory of Music is excited to present nationally renowned jazz pianist Tamir Hendelman and saxophonist Ralph Moore.

Award-winning American-Israeli jazz pianist Hendelman is perhaps best known for his long association with the Jeff Hamilton Trio and the Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra. In addition, he has collaborated and recorded with Tierney Sutton (NVJS February 2019), Diana Krall, John Pizzarelli, Gladys Knight, Jackie Ryan, Barbara Streisand, Roberta Gambarini, Natalie Cole, and Janis Mann.

Tenor saxophonist Ralph Moore has been described by the NYTimes as “a rhythm fanatic…. under a soft, woody tone with a bit of a rasp to it.” As others have observed, that would suggest a cross between John Coltrane and Dexter Gordon. After earning a degree from Boston’s Berklee College of Music, Ralph arrived in New York in 1981. A list of his collaborators over the years reads like a compendium of our favorite jazz musicians – names like Oscar Peterson, Kenny Barron, Gene Harris, Ray Brown, Horace Silver, J.J. Johnson, Bobby Hutcherson, Billy Hart, Cedar Walton, and Freddie Hubbard. Many know Mr. Moore as the big sax sound in The Tonight Show band from 1995 until Jay Leno’s retirement.

Tickets are available at the door ($10).
