Stockton Arts Week: Collide Star Lanterns with Joy Neas

This event has passed but is here for informational purposes.

A free Parol workshop will be offered at the Van Buskirk Community Center on October 15 from 6 p.m. – 7:45 p.m. during Stockton Arts Week
What is a Parol? Parols represent the Star of Bethlehem and are made by Filipino school children and families, carried in parades and hung in windows in the Philippines during December.

Come learn the cultural traditions of the Philippines. Decorate a bamboo star frame by gluing cellophane, ribbon, stickers, garland and assorted decorations and wiring on tissue paper tails.

Parol making is a wonderful activity for families to do together, each person adding their own creativity and effort to making a one of a kind decoration to display in your window for your neighborhood to enjoy.

Families are encouraged to attend. Sign up at the center or drop in while supplies last.
