The annual Student Art Exhibition highlights the work of students and faculty over the past academic year. Studio and Media Arts courses include drawing, painting, graphic art, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, photography (analogue and digital), 2D color & design, and 3D design.
The online exhibition is a virtual version of the annual juried exhibition, and is open to all students taking courses in the visual and media arts. Although we’re still operating virtually, we are thrilled to be able to present our annual art awards ceremony this year, along with a preview slide show of the works online.
This year’s exhibition juror is Marty Azevedo, Professor of Art & Printmaking at Stanislaus State University, Turlock, CA. Marty received his BA in Art from California State University, Chico, and his MFA at The Ohio State University. His artwork may be seen at http://marty-azevedo.com
Located on the campus of San Joaquin Delta College, the LH Horton Jr Gallery is currently closed due to the pandemic until further notice. During this time the Gallery has presented 6 online exhibitions, 15 virtual events (artist talks, studio tours, art demonstrations) and one virtual art workshop. The online exhibitions and recordings of the virtual events may be found at the Gallery’s website, http://gallery.deltacollege.edu.
The LH Horton Jr Gallery is a premier exhibition space and a program of the Art Department within the Division of Arts, Humanities, and Multimedia. The primary mission of the Gallery is to support Student Learning Outcomes in the visual arts curriculum by building knowledge within the aesthetic, technical, cultural and historical context of the visual arts. The Gallery offers exhibition opportunities to local, regional, and national artists, lenders, and guest curators.
