Me and my boyfriend didn’t get to go out to eat on Valentine’s Day due to us working that day. The next day was our day off and we were extremely craving some Mexican food. We been also wanting to try more places. We decided to try El Senor Frog’s since they are close by our home. We walked into the restaurant and were greeted and ask to sit anywhere we pleased. We were also assisted right away with their amazing chips and salsa which we loved and menus and what we’d like to drink. We were so thrilled looking at their menu with so many selections. I was contemplating on what to get! My boyfriend decided to get the Flautás dinner and I decided to get the combo Beef Enchilada and Tamale plate. We were so excited to see our plates come out in a short matter of time and to see how big our portions were and how amazing our plates looked! Our plates were delicious and the food was spectacular. It’s been a long while since we had some unforgettable tasting Comida! The flavor in everything was there and we could just tell the food wasn’t rushed but made with love. The atmosphere felt very home like and Spanish music playing to enjoy while dining. Loved the setting and their food. Also all the employees were very kind and attentive. Their prices also weren’t sky rocket like other places! Definitely made our make up Valentine’s Dinner the best and a night to remember. We look forward to going back again. Thank you! We go here for there Menudo because we believe it is the best in all of Stockton, I mean you can drink the broth by itself with a straw and be satisfied. They do not skimp on ingredients and it is all homemade. It tastes so good but I never can finish my bowl because they give you enough for two. I love to add my red onions some lime oh so yummy. Then on the weekends you have homemade tortillas on the side, did i forget to start with the chips and the salsa that is always fresh. The staff is family and always frendly we love them. Parking is hard because they are always busy, but you figure it out if you want to eat there. We have walked up the street and sat on the back patio before on a Sunday when there was no seating inside because I was determined to have there Menudo for my Sunday Brunch, it's that Good! One foodie to another you have to try this spot!
My favorite Mexican food with the BEST GRAVY AND CHEESE. All Their food is so delicious. We’ve been coming here for years and love their beans and rice as well. Best Mexican food ever 😋
The food is good, however they charge extra for everything! Tortillas not included, $3 for a jalapeno, asked for Colorado sauce on top of my beef quesadillas and they said they don’t do that. When I picked up an order to go, they charged me $3 for sauce to put on my quesadillas and $.25 for the conditioner! I just went to MiRanchito which is actually my favorite, they INCLUDED 2 tortillas, chips & salsa and no container charges. My 1 taco 1 enchilada lunch with beans, rice & salad was $13.06
First time dining at El Señor Frogs. We were drawn in by the 4.5-star rating and the mention of generous portions in other reviews. Service started off well—they greeted us quickly and were attentive. When we asked for recommendations, they said everything was good and suggested the super burrito if I was really hungry. The burrito ended up being mostly beans and rice, with the meat dry and lacking flavor. My wife ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with fries, but the sandwich fell apart easily and didn’t have much chicken, and the fries tasted like they came from a frozen bag. We did enjoy the complimentary chips and salsa, and the staff had a playful sense of humor when we asked for refills. However, when the check came, we were surprised to see charges for lemons and for the chips and salsa we thought were free. The total came to about $50, which felt overpriced for the portions and quality. Overall, the service had some fun moments, but the food and value didn’t live up to the strong rating or the price point. Don’t plan on returning.
