Overview
Macchia is a small family run winery with a charming tasting room and grounds that almost hug you as you arrive. Their passion is obviously Zinfandel; they make more than ten of them from gnarly old vineyards, some up to 150 years old.
The grounds are some of the most inviting Lodi has to offer. You can play bocce, horseshoes, or maybe just relax under the mature shade trees. There are many spots to linger and enjoy a leisurely lunch so bring a picnic and enjoy the atmosphere.
The tasting room is welcoming and is filled with exceptional hand-selected gift items, exclusively chosen by the owner.
Tasting Fee: $10.00, refunded with purchase

Stumbling into Macchia Winery was a pure, happy accident—much like my college degree—but I'm declaring my return a deliberate, intentional act because this place offers a "chill vibe on a rustic atmosphere" that perfectly disguises the fact that I spilled wine within the first five minutes, a situation instantly salvaged by the staff's unbelievable kindness, which is truly the main attraction here, far surpassing the decent wines themselves; the establishment feels like a warm hug wrapped in mismatched wood and sunlight, providing an instant reset button for the soul where the people are so genuinely welcoming they make you feel like the VIP you secretly wish you were, validating my theory that while the wine is good, the sheer friendliness of the Macchia team is the true, priceless vintage that makes this accidental discovery a necessary, well-planned destination for all future weekend escapes.
It was our first time visiting Lodi in October and saw an ad that this winery had performers during Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed listening to popular music while wine tasting. We bought 2 bottles of wine that we liked.
What a great find! We found this winery through Harvest Host and thoroughly enjoyed our experience here! The staff was incredibly kind and the wine was great! Definitely recommend!
Lovely experience. Excellent wines. Brian and Tyler were super sweet, and we really enjoyed our tasting.
We enjoyed the winery as a harvest host member. Lovely, relaxing property. Staff are equally laid back friendly and helpful. Parking on the nearby level grassy side yard. We enjoyed a wine tasting then choosing a wine and returning to enjoy our own charcuterie. Slept well with full bellies in our little trailer. We chose “Oblivious” a full bodied barbera. Highly recommend. Note: it’s remote and coyotes roam so don’t leave pets unattended at night.
