Came in here with my family and had a great time. We had the bbq and the meat was really good and high quality!
Great spot and super friendly staff. Stopped on our way back from skiing and really enjoyed our meal. Adam was our waiter and he was terrific. Definitely go here if you are in the area.
Went here because of the high review scores but was left slightly disappointed. It's *fine*, but that's it. The menu is limited considering the cost (nearly $40/head as of February 2024), missing many of the items I'd expect to see at a KBBQ - the full menu is more like what I'd see at a lunch menu elsewhere in the Bay area. Still, the staff were pleasant and the food decent.
My wife and I stopped in for dinner and I cannot express how great the service and food was. We chose the kbbq for dinner. Adam was our server and he was fantastic. Everything we ordered from the Korean short ribs to bbq chicken was on POINT! The pot stickers were perfectly cooked. I didn’t even have to ask for the sesame oil and salt because everything we needed was already laid out on the table. If you’re local to Stockton or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop in. You absolutely, positively and unequivocally will not be disappointed!
The last time my husband we were here, we were taken aback by their automatic gratuity that was added to our bill. Our server there had barely served us 3 times and neglected our empty water cups and side dishes. We decided not to return even after being long time lovers of this establishment. Fast forward, after being disappointed in the quality of the newly opened restaurant Yogi, my husband we decided to visit Seoul Soondubu again. This time, we were met with amazing service and kindness from all staff and both the owners. We took our 5 month old son with us and all the staff made sure to make their way to say hello. 3 staff managed the tables but even then, they all took their turn in checking in and making sure our needs were met. The selection of food and appetizers (the spicy tofu soup and takoyaki being my favorites) are delicious as always. My husband we left 110% satisfied and both agreed we would happily pay the more expensive price here for quality food and service than at Yogi Kbbq. We agreed that although we have always had a great experience here in the years that we’ve visited, our one bad experience was probably due to a new staff who I didn’t see there this time.
It's been a bit since we were last here. We had for appetizers the Seafood Korean Pancake and the Pot Stickers. Excellent. We both had the Seafood Tofu Soup on this cold, rainy and windy day. My wife's was not spicy but added her own tolerance level of heat. Mine was Medium spicy but I also added some heat to it. Very good as always. On the negative there was the an automatic 18% tip added. We always tip well but I don't l like being forced to. Maybe it was posted somewhere but I wasn't really looking for it. The second was that there was no progressive clearing of empty dishes which left the table cluttered. Other than that service was okay.
This place was surprisingly good. I would say similar quality to the L.A. version of Bud Namu rated by Buzzfeed as good foods and fall in the medium price. This place in Stockton was comparable in quality. My family of four cost us 97.00 for lunch all u can eat for an 1.5 hr. limit. After an hour, we could do no more with our bellies maxed out. Service was thoughtful and attentive. Good service overall. Tip... Try not to sit in the middle of the grill, it gets very warm from the grill, not to mention the hot splashes from the grilling. I would recommend it if your around in the area. We actually drove from Modesto to try it. We just like to try foodies all over where our tummies take us As always, happy hunting.
I wanted to come see what the trend was all about with this location…. so you KNOW i made the 30 minute drive in traffic from Tracy to try some AYCE Korean BBQ — in the middle of all this bustle! We were greeted by the family who ran the business some time after 6:00pm. It wasn’t too busy, so it was actually quite welcoming. He gave us the option to do regular Korean dining, or do the all-you-can-eat style. We opted for the all-you-can-eat, so we had to wait a teeny bit… but the wait wasn’t much of a wait to be quite fair. We were escorted to our tables, where they gave us the first few options to choose from… this is where the experience begins. Food: 5/5 They actually had quite a selection of meats and kitchen items! I love how they had English and Korean on their menu together… it made it feel like home. What stood out to me was the fact that the side dishes were already prepared for us and ready for us to dig in while we were waiting for our dishes to be served. I loved how you had the option to order three meats, alongside three kitchen items. Though not pictured, the portions of the meat weren’t actually a lot — they were enough to fill up our palate for each round they asked us for. The japchae and steamed eggs were probably by far the ones that really hit the spot, in terms of kitchen items. Meat wise, I’d recommend the pork jowl if you really want that CRISPINESS and bulgogi for that flavorful yet juicy tender texture of meat. 🥩 Service: 3/5 Okay, here’s what I didn’t like about the restaurant… so sit tight for this one. I had to dock two stars due to the following reasons: (1) We were rushed through the whole process. Though welcoming, the owner was quite dismissive — which it really lacked unprofessionalism. We were also told that we only had 90 minutes once we were sat… and they put immense pressure on the waitress who ONLY had been on the job for two days to take our order…. like GURL, give her a break first, she’s doing her best! (2) The prices were outrageous… almost $39 a person was enough to break my bank. On top of that, an 18% automatic gratuity was added on that…. I know that it’s easier on the people serving us since they should get more money, but seriously…. I almost ended up paying $98 out the door. No tip cuz y’all already did, smh 😒 Atmosphere: 4/5 I really liked how big the table was honestly — like it was enough to serve at least 6 people. It was only me and my partner, though, so that was a different kind of sight. I had to take a star off for the people that came in — it made it just feel like other groups of people are staring you down very occasionally. I’d come back again — their food is quite good. Just be prepared for the upcosts tsk tsk 🥱
First time at Seoul Soondubu and it was great. Food was great, service was excellent and the owner was kind enough to explain the some of the Korean beverages and how they're served. Anyway, it all made our first- time experience fun and wonderful. If you find this review helpful, please click Like. Thank you
The food was great and the staff was amazing. Honestly I left too full and had to roll myself out. I wanted to post a review because the online pictures show an outdated menu and the prices are a little bit higher for the all you can eat BBQ
This place is alright if you want kbbq. There's only 3 items on the all you can eat menu that I order the majority of the time. The rest of it is bland or very fatty... or both. The servers are fairly quick to refill your grill orders but you have to ask for more soda. Most of the time you just need to ask someone as they pass by the table. Good place to eat similar to oz in Sacramento.
Great food! Only problem is the backroom where you sit at the grill tables is way too hot! They need to crank up the AC back the there!
Opted for spicy beef tofu soup and spicy rice cake with added noodles. Wasn’t a fan of this shredded style beef. The texture just doesn’t work very well. The flavor is good, but something felt a little lacking. I love tteok-bokki. I devoured it too fast and didn’t take a picture. Sorry! I might have let it sit too long because a lot of the soup was soaked up by the noodles. This one is a thicker one so if you’re looking for more of the soupier ones, this isn’t it, but still good. The side dishes were just ok. When going to a Korean bbq restaurant, most of the time (in socal at least) all the Korean bbq restaurants have amazing, super fresh meat so what sets them apart? The time and quality they put into their free side dishes. If somewhere is willing to care that much and put that much effort into a free side dish, then doesn’t that really point out the passion?
The wait at 6pm was short (as in we were lucky to walk in to an open table for two on a Monday night). Clean, open space inside and we were quickly attended to for beverages. We chose the beef potstickers for an appetizer and each the clay pot bibimbap combo. The clay pot is a beef bulgogi topped with a fried egg (you can choose not to) combo with plenty of veggies and white rice that sizzles and continues to crisp in the pot. Plenty of small sides to accompany it when you get the combo - including a rich tofu soup! The beef potstickers were crispy and hot with a tasty dipping sauce. Service was attentive and they were happy to accommodate putting the "spicy" sauce on the side for my friend who didn't want too much added to her order. The combo is about $22 each and we each had soft drinks $3-4 and the potstickers were $10. Plus tax and service charge we each came in a little under $40. Very full bellies and very well worth the
My sister went to pick this up for me because I'm sick and WOW! It tastes amazing. "Spiciness" is always questionable at places but she asked for extra spicy and it's exactly that. It is seasoned well and has just the right amount of everything. I'm not just saying that because I'm sick, I still have my taste buds and appetite. I will definitely hit this place up when I get better!
Overall great experience coming here. Their lunch special was more than fulfilling. I was very satisfied with ordering their short rib plate. Will be returning soon.
I celebrated my birthday today in this excellent restaurant. Well we enjoyed a great evening and the restaurant was evidently one of the reasons for the fruitful gathering. The waiters contributed in a pleasant style, the cooking was very good and my buddies were very overjoyed. We shall absolutely come back again for more celebrations. thanks very much.
Came here a few days ago (Friday night) and this place was really good. Waited for a table so we all went to the bar and had some drinks. Drinks were tasty, bar was cool. Food was awesome as well as the service. Will definitely be going back.
Great little spot in Stockton with friendly people and solid offerings. Large space, good for groups and reasonable prices. Will definitely come back near time in around.
BEST PLACE TO GET K-BBQ the all you can eat section is really worth it in my opinion :) Would totally recommend and come again :3
I love Korean food and this is some of the more authentic and tasty. They have some less authentic things also like teriyaki. But it's good food. We ordered from the menu, didn't do BBQ.
Went for lunch. Friendly and helpful staff. Condiments were delicious especially kimchee. The place is closed on Tuesdays. Reasonable price. They have lunch buffet where you can BBQ yourself. Would go again.
I seriously love this place. I wandered in on the first day they opened and every time I’m back in Stockton I go here. The soon tofu (spicy chili garlic soup) is what they do best, and their kimchi selection is fantastic. I love how they always include japche (clear noodles of heavenly tastiness), and the potato dish is always a winner. The bbq pork is also super good. And the nicest people in the world work there. Seriously best restaurant in Stockton.
This spot is my favored. I eat in a lot of restaurants but to this restaurant I constantly return again and again. The stuff is very warm and the cuisine they serve is so tasty. I am always happy to have a good dinner in this place. I recommend this place with pleasure.
We love hanging out. Yesterday we visited this fine place which friends recommended to us. We spent a beautiful time there with superb cooking and an efficient team and a great chef. We added this restaurant in our phone list and we shall no doubt come back soon. We highly recommend.
Good food and good service. Been there many times but haven't tried the Korean BBQ in the back of the restaurant. The seafood clay pot is my favorite when there's 2 or more in the group. Seafood soup is great also 😋
Went here and it was amazing! The customer service was amazing but it was More expensive than I expected.
Love their self serve Korean bbq. Does anyone know or can tell me if their restaurants open for BBQ during this covid 19?
Great people service and always LOVE the food!! It is worth trying.
Delishhh! Picked up complete dinner set, Kalbi beef bbq! Very friendly and polite staff. Food was ready on time. Do make this your Korean BBQ spot 🇰🇷😊
The food here is excellent! Do not hesitate to eat here! Excellent service and so delicious! 😁
They are reopened for dine-in now! All you can eat BBQ only though. Great food. Friendly staff. Nice service. My daughter and I really liked here.
For being the only Korean place in Stockton, I give them 5 stars. The food here is pretty good and the meals are very fulfilling hence the higher price value. I get the Korean short ribs, rice, tofu soup, and all the side dishes. The short ribs are marinated very well and it's a big portion so I always have leftover. The tofu soup is so good!
First of all, I've been coming here for years. The quality and service have remained consistent. I love the authenticity of their food and how friendly the service always is. The owners are friendly, involved and accommodating. They offer either all you can eat bbq or regular lunch/dinner options. Both are equally good.
Wonderful place where I get to sit down and cook the food they bring myself. The spicy chicken was delicious!
Dine in for now it's only the all you can eat, which cost about 32$ each person. If you order off their menu it's only for togo. The food here is good, waitress are great and service is great.
Love this place. We did the All-You-Can-Eat BBQ. Super good, just wish I could've eaten more!
Tasty food. We really liked the dip sauces. The meats were good quality and all you can eat with a 2 hour limit. Service was attentive and responsive. Even the rice was made right. Will return after I lose some weight.
Friendly service, fresh tasting indigents. Cool collection of sea shells to check out while waiting for a table
Extremely costly compared to most of the other kbbq places. Chicken is bland but the Bulgogi and pork were fantastic. Drinks not included in price but dessert is!
Good food and service. Just make sure you're not the one doing all the cooking if you do all you can eat. There's also a bar connected to the back of the restaurant, which is nice if you have to wait for a table.
First time at Seoul Soondubu and it was great. Food was great, service was excellent and the owner was kind enough to explain the some of the Korean beverages and how they're served. Anyway, it all made our first- time experience fun and wonderful.
I love this place and definitely intend to eat here again. They serve the traditional variety of side dishes, which is sadly becoming rare among this type of restaurant. I had their 90-minute all you can eat dinner, and all of the ingredients and dishes presented were of high quality, and were served at the optimal temperature. Their Takoyaki was especially good: It was well-made and served piping hot, with a delightful sauce. I heard from the owner that they will be renovating soon to increase the number of tables, and I will definitely be coming back to check things out.
OMG! This place is so good! The server was amazing and very helpful! We will be back! The ribs are incredible!
