Shuddersome: Tales of Poe Adapted by Lindsay Price from Edgar Allan Poe is playing at KUDOS Children’s Theatre from October 23 through 28 at 6:00 p.m. weekdays and 2:00 p.m. Saturday. It is a one-hour, haunting gorgeous piece that gives Poe’s classic works a fresh reimagining to the stage. The wickedly talented teen company includes 14 actors ages 13 to 18 years old and is Directed by Sarah Rushton.
The thumping of a heartbeat. The creak of a door. The howl of a bitter wind. The gong of a clock tower. The clang of alarm bells. The sound of beating wings getting closer and closer…
Specters, ghosts and ghouls come alive in this vivid theatrical adaptation of some of Edgar Allan Poe’s best-known works. Included are The Tell-Tale Heart, The Raven, and The Masque of the Red Death. These stories and more are filled with horror, drama, and a bit of blood.
Poe’s words rise from the page like corpses from the grave. Be careful. Do you hear that tap, tap, tapping?
