Hi there! Service was good, waitress was patient and very polite. Though my food was a little bit shocking. I’ll keep it short, i ordered an 8pz sirloin as an med rare and friend ordered the same as well. though when received, definitely didn’t look like a medium rare. Doubled check with our waitress if i indeed ordered as a medium rare. they said yes. Let me know what you guys think. :) ate it though because i was hungry lol
The food was good, the service was satisfactory (not in a top shelf way tho), and the restaurant had a lot of unbiased tables making the restaurant look unkempt. Yes, I know that the management will blame the minimum wage increase, but I can tell you all that's bullshit. I worked in fast food management for many years. We always, always were forced to cut labor costs to the bone. What that meant was the manager had to get off their butt and get out there and help clearly not being done at Applebee's.
Let me ask you: What good is a French dip sandwich without an Au jus to dunk it in? A very good sandwich becomes a dried out piece of meat on a hard bun. I ordered the sandwich, it was delivered without an Au jus. Waitress said let me go look for it and when she came back she said they ran out of Au jus. My first Applebee's meal in over 10 years failed me miserably. The waitress apologized and told me she didn't know and that the cook never told her when she turned in my order. She offered to get me something else but when you're with a group of people you don't want to sit and watch everyone eat and when they finally bring you out your second choice you sure don't want everyone else sitting there watching you eat. The Manager was summoned and all he could do was adjust the bill. Did he take my meal off the bill? No, he adjusted the entire bill by 10% which ended up with a half price cost to my absolutely terrible sandwich. It'll be at least another 10 years before I return, maybe they'll go out of business and save me the trouble.
I was so pleased with the service here. Truthfully, except for maybe 1-2 times I don't think I've had bad service at any Applebee's and I've been going to this restaurant since I was a kid because my school rewarded students with meal tickets to here haha. I just wanted to say that our two servers here, Lily and Juan, that served us the past few times we've visited have such great customer service skills. They're always on top of everything even with huge parties going on. Now about the food... I ordered the spicy honey mustard chicken sandwich and it was delicious but I had to ask for extra sauce to taste any heat and it made everything soggy. That's on corporate that their sauce isn't enough unless the food is drenched. My son and boyfriend liked their food though! Also, a shout-out to the cook last night (03/01/25), they did a FANTASTIC job cooking my daughter's green beans until they were soft enough for a 1 yr old. Thank you 😊 Corporate though? Fix the heat on your sauce please. I didn't like having a sandwich that had to be falling apart from extra sauce just to taste it. I felt like it was a waste for the cook to fry that chicken breast only for me to make it soggy. I'll always come back though, you guys have the best grilled chicken and mashed potatoes around.
The waitress was superb. Service was excellent. Food just isn't as good Chili's. But still good. The Big Chicken Sandwich was soft but dry. Bun seemed old for a brioche. Fries were endless and I put that to the test. Free ranch where Chili's charges you for each small very small side. When Applebee's were given and huge ramekins. Burger was not as thick as Chili's Smasher burger but the Bacon made up for that. My only complaint would be I asked for no cheese or substitute for cheddar. I received American. Which I hate on burgers. Too salty mucus texture. Waitress overhead me and asked I I wanted it fix. As a retired chef I knew how it would go. They would spray it with water to steam off the cheese and cook it again yo melt the new cheese and really over cook the already over cooked patty. Deep fryer needs to be changed soon too. Lastly, they gave me a real Shirley Temple with a cherry where Chili's just adds grenadine. Enjoy!
