Overview
When Guadalupe and Jesus Arroyo moved here in the early 1940s, they immediately began sharing their passion for food with friends and family by opening their first restaurant. Sixty years later, their son Mario continues the tradition and commitment to excellence at Arroyo's Cafe. Located on the water, one can enjoy fresh, homemade tortillas, enchiladas, carne asada, and other Mexican favorites. Friday and Saturday nights the restaurant hosts live Mariachi music, and the bar hosts Happy Hour.

We're from out of town and bolstered by their 4.3 average review, we decided to eat here. It's a nice location, good service and a nice building. Chips and salsa were very tasty, and the robust flour tortillas appeared homemade, but our entrees were SO bland. They weren't bad, just lacking in flavor and spice. I had the Chili Verde, which comes in a red sauce, and yes, I understood that (the peppers are green, not the sauce). I generally love red sauces, but this one pretty much just tasted like tomato. My wife's chicken enchiladas had a similar issue, where the chicken didn't seemed seasoned at all.
Hands down the best Mexican cuisine in Stockton, I have been loyal for over 45 years, since they were downtown. Very friendly staff who are attentive, awesome fresh-made tortillas, and 3 types of salsa. Lunch portions are like a dinner and dinner is leftovers. lol

Love this place! I always get the garlic shrimp, but grilled instead of sautéed. It's so delicious! I would add more garlic myself, but its still really yummy! Plus you can look at the fake lake and feel like you are somewhere else for a little while. The salsa is spicy for us, but we still love it. Everyone is really nice also!
I’ve been going to Arroyo’s since I was a little girl with my grandma, still to this day I love eating here. The food is delicious, customer service is always amazing and welcoming. Today we went for Valentines Day and were surprised with mini cheesecakes which were absolutely mouth watering!
