The Dancing Fox is Lodi’s only urban winery combining two passions, bread and wine. The wines are made from the Lewis family estate vineyards and the breads use the natural yeast from these grapes. The breads are hand formed then baked in a wood fired oven from Spain, sold fresh every day.
The bakery and eatery provides more than just breads. Pastries, muffins, health bars, breakfast, lunch and dinner are also offered. The wood fired pizza is second to none when washed down by wine or a pint of ale.
Tasting fee: $10 waived upon any wine bottle purchase.
We pour 5 wines that we have chosen for that week.
Groups larger than 8 need to call ahead for appointment.

I brought my clients in from the bay area who are buying a home and moving to Lodi in the next month or so. Dancing Fox was perfect for them. They loved the menu options, service, and ambiance on a lovely winter day in the 70's. Highly recommend Dancing Fox for anyone entertaining people from out of the area.
Place is a pretty cool atmosphere. Good sign when you have a half a dozen people waiting for it to open and not leave to a near by restaurant. Great service, big portions and everything taste good and fresh!!
Stopped by for a bite to eat, tried something different this time turkey cranberry sandwich smothered with delicious cream cheese. They used the freshest turkey. The pear cider was also really tasty.
Excellent food, suggest personal pizza, good sandwiches, very good french fries, home made ice cream, delicious! Excellent service. Sorry no pictures. We will be back and update that part. Also sugest to get there before they open there was a line waiting to get in before they opened.
I tried this place out for the first time after things started opening up I was very pleased the first time. I order a burrito and my husband a burger it taste amazing. But for some reason when I went the second time I order a vegan burger and it had no seasoning or flavour was disappointed. Also the menu I’m guessing changed because it was between the two visit was maybe 4 months apart in time frame. But when I went the second time they had nothing on the menu like the first time and less options. I really do hope they add more options and change something around. Also staff members were amazing.
Great little place to relax with good food and drink! Prices are good for quality AND quantity of food! Staff is friendly, and atmosphere is wonderful!!
A friend and I went here to celebrate my 38th birthday. He ordered the Reuben and I ordered the French Dip with fries as our side, the sandwiches were prepared perfectly and the fries were just as crispy and flavorful as we remember. We both had the Fox's Delight for dessert and it was just as deviously decadent as we remember it being. If you have ever been curious about The Dancing Fox, indulge in that curiosity. We have never been disappointed in what we've had here in the several times we have been here.
Charming venue with beautiful artwork right down to the wine labels! Incredibly friendly staff - family owned! Great wine, spirits and food! One of the best French Dips I have had!!
This restaurant 😍 is a medieval tavern/pub vibe. Very beautiful place, definitely recommend 👌 The lady at the bar was so attentive to our crew, offering various kind/brand of wine tasting. Food and wine were great. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and business decor.
Great lunch spot! food felt really fresh and you get a good amount for the price. Overall definitely worth a try. I plan to come back and order different things on the menu.

By happy accident we ended up in this beautiful place last evening. When our truck broke down while traveling through, we ended up having to grab a hotel room and wait for repairs. We made the best of it by grabbing a lift over to old town Lodi and wandered into the Dancing Fox. Enjoyed several lovely wines and sparkling conversations with our bartender and the owner as well. Magical, Old World atmosphere inside, lush garden patio outside. Grabbed a few bottles for the road! We look forward to returning again, sometime along the road!
Great place, peaceful, and full of vegetation outside, where I usually eat. I did eat inside once and it's also a beautifully designed atmosphere. I usually get the Ribeye and today it was exceptionally good. It was cooked to perfection with a healthy portion of veggies and potatoes all of which were on point as well. I got the Pear Cider today and I wish they sold Growlers, because it's incredible! I'll likely come back tomorrow as well. I initially came to the area to eat at Lodi Beer Company but they were "closed due to staffing issues" which was weird. Both of these places are comparable in food, value, and price, but Dancing fox is a little more upscale feeling, quieter, and a bit more chill. l like both fairly equally and bounce back and forth between them. You can't go wrong with either one. Enjoy! P.S. omg, the bread pudding! 😍
This so call winery is actually located in down town Lodi, no vineyard or wine cellar near by. Parking will be tough during the weekend or holiday. There are many parking lot and street perking space available but need to be careful the 90 minuets time limit on street parking. We arrived around 12:30 for lunch on a sunny but cold and very windy Tuesday for lunch, we waited for 30 minutes for a indoor seating of 4 of us. I think we will try the outdoor seating next time. Soon as we situated in our table, our order of drinks and food quickly taken. Drinks arrived very soon follow by our food in about 10 minutes. All the dishes we ordered today was so wonderful. The pizza, the salad, the sandwich and the fish and chips. There fries are second to none, we have to fight over the last few pieces of them. We will order extra side order of fries for sure. We also bought extra two bottles of wine we had today, It will be super nice for the coming summer, We will be back for sure to they their dinner menu.
The food is always excellent, the service is great, and ambiance is awesome. I highly recommend it! They have gluten and dairy free options which is always a must for us. This is one of the consistently best restaurant experiences I've ever had.
Stopped by here on my way out of town just for a little food and chose it only based on how beautiful the outdoor seating area looked! Then chose to sit inside because inside was just as cool! Tavern atmosphere - and I love the random old style vintage? Chairs. So cool. Then I tasted the sausage and was blown away! If you can’t pick a sausage get the lamb!! But THEN. I tasted the beer. And man was it tasty! Top three favorites are the Karate Chimp, Curieux, and Midnight Morning... just spectacular! So happy I came by!
From the moment you enter that restaurant team give you an agreeable feeling. Very hospitable hosts, it is a nice restaurant to enjoy with buddies or with your date. delicious food, talented chef de cuisine, competitive price and courteous service. Warmly recommended.
This spot simply knows how to take care of their clients. Always with a super nice attitude. The food is conveniently priced, constantly flavorful and clean.
Absolutely loved this place! The food was great. They serve their own wines (and they delicious -we tried their Zinfandel and their Cab Reserve), and the ambiance is super-fun, with a decor that perfectly conveys their brand.
This place is getting better and better. Sunday brunches are amazing and such nice people. I have always had good experiences with every visit over the last 10 or so years.
From out of state and this place blew me away with their food. The veggie burger kept me full all day. SO tasty! I had to get the bread pudding to go and it still impressed me as leftovers! The rest of the family enjoyed the fish and chips. My husband enjoyed his beer... what I chose to drink was awful. I would describe it as herbal essence shampoo mixed with sparkling water. I'm going to assume it just wasn't something I could appreciate because literally everything else, the patio, the service, the food, the whether, was perfect.
This may be the best food, service and dining experience I've ever had. I cannot state strongly enough how good it is here! Today I got the Guiseppa pizza, with zesty sauce and prosciutto, amazing. I don't have to tell you, everything is made in house--literally everything. The fries are crispy and fluffy, perfect size. The green chili tri tip sandwich is 🔥🔥🔥 and the beer and wine selection is fantastic. The staff is also excellent, attentive and friendly. I can't wait to return.
Delicious food and Great customer service thank you so much for a wonderful Meal!! Feeling Thankful
We did the beer flights and each one was very unique and really good. The food was so delisious. I had the philli Cheese Steak Sandwhich and it was amazing. Highly recommend this place!!
Great spot for delicious American food. i give this spot a thumbs up. looking forward to a return visit. the bill was appropriate for the quality.
Excellent service by Deborah, very knowledgeable , courteouss and sweet.Very tasty food, highly recommend their house made balsamic dressing. Generous servings, quality food. The Beer selection covers different taste buds. Try the Curieux beer and you will be in beer heaven! .
I love this place! Very renaissance feel to it. Reminds me of a English pub. The server was David and did an awesome job! The Tri Tip Chili Sandwich was soooo good.
With its old world ambiance, freshly baked breads, superb draft beers, and exquisite wines, The Dancing Fox is wonderful for any group or size. Whether it be you or multiple people, the Dancing Fox provides an experience that would leave anyone impressed and everyone satisfied. My personal favorite would be their banger English style sausage with their homemade sauerkraut. But others may find their gourmet woodstove pizza or French onion Tri-Tip more of one's style. What ever you chose you can rely that it's going to be an experience won't soon forget and one you'll soon crave for again!
Had a lovely lunch today outside on the pario. The house-made veggie burger on a freshly baked multigrain bun was was the best veggie burger I have ever eaten. My fellow guest thoughly enjoyed her bratwurst with house-made saurkraut on a freshly baked rye roll. It is always a treat to eat here, but today's meal was exceptional. The staff were prompt and attentive in their service.
Great location, great food and great staff. The food is so delicious and i loved their fish most.
Very elegant and accessible restaurant. They offer large portions and for inexpensive rates. I liked the menu very much and the staff members were super welcoming and explanatory. Will definitely recommend this spot.
I always enjoy myself when I dine here. Friendly atmosphere and always fresh food. Been here a few times and definitely plan to return. 😊
Love! Love the atmosphere! Love the food! Love the team! Love the prices! Love everything about it. We had an amazing lunch! Go here, you will be so grateful you did. The chicken caprese sandwich was awesome and the fries are delicious.
Wanted to take my girlfriend and our baby out for lunch on a random weekday afternoon... Great service. Great interaction with other guests. Great beer selection. Food was good. Will definitely come back and try the other food items listed on their menu.
Customer service was great! Staff members worked so well as a team—there were several staffers who checked in on us, and we were only having drinks. If you like sweeter beers, I would recommend the “Pear Cider” or the “slush”. They also had a really tasty desert. It was some type of ice cream cake.
I got the veggie sandwich with focaccia + pesto and it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. I was just passing through looking for a place with vegetarian options to eat lunch. I hope I can come back here one day!
One of the best restaurants in downtown Lodi, hands down. Great selection of wines and beers and tasty food. Cute outdoor patio area that reminds me of an outdoor garden. Highly recommended.
Good burger and wings. Herb sauce that came with bread was awful, like... Vinegar and thousand island mixed? Water is good. Service was good. 😊 Will go back for wine tasting.
The food was amazing here! Also, excellent beers on tap, but if you don't like beer, there are plenty of choices for wine. I will definitely come back to try something else on the menu!
Very good food. Hard to get your mouth around those big sandwiches. Very nice servers. Like how unique the restaurant is
The lunch was excellent. So much food, had to take some home. Next time I am in Lodi, I will definitely visit again.
Service and atmosphere good. Beer good. Food we had was over salted and may have had msg (I get mild numbness in jaw when I eat food cooked with it ). Husband had Fish and Chips and fish looked like a child's fish sticks. I had stuffed chicken breast with linguine with pesto sauce. Pesto was poured over everything, vegetables, chicken and spaghetti. Son's French fries were crisp but over salted.
Great food, awesome service from great staff and a great atmosphere. This is always our first choice when we go out to eat. The service is always great and the food is always amazing.
Loved my experience here: food, beer, and ambience! The outdoor seating is super cute and I had the best cider, “chai me a river”! (I hope they bring it back soon) Ordered a french dip- really decent size packed with beef! The dip was really savory as well. The dish came with either fries or salad…. and of course I went with fries :)
Food=DELICIOUS Beer=DELICIOUS And to top it off, it looks like your in a pub in the Lord of the Rings. Pretty cool place to eat. Cheers!
Good food, good service, great beer and wine selection they make themselves. Very cool ambiance. There's also a tasting room in the back where you can sample their wines.
This place is amazing and well put together. Service is just over the top. Am a fan of tattoos and are waiter was tatted down and we just loved it. Right on man. The wine was amazing. The food was good as well. This place just grabs you from the time you walk in. We felt like if we weren’t even in Lodi for a while… Great place, Great food, Excellent Service… Right on Dancing Fox…
