Our visit to Heritage Oak Winery in Lodi was easily one of the highlights of our wine country trip. If you are looking for a relaxing, authentic, family-owned winery experience away from the large commercial tasting rooms, this place is absolutely worth visiting. The property itself is beautiful and incredibly peaceful. The grounds are very well maintained with scenic vineyard views, mature shade trees, fruit trees, outdoor seating areas, and a calm countryside atmosphere that immediately makes you want to slow down and enjoy the experience. We spent quite a bit of time walking the property and taking photos because the setting is simply gorgeous. One of the most unique and fun aspects of the tasting experience was how the wines were served in labeled glass vials instead of traditional pours. My wife and I each ordered different tastings and shared everything, which allowed us to try 10 wines total instead of just 5. It made the tasting interactive, memorable, and unlike any winery experience we have had before. The wines themselves were excellent across the board. There was a great variety of reds and whites, and several stood out immediately as bottles we would happily purchase again. You can tell these wines are crafted with care and attention rather than simply produced for volume tourism. What really elevated the visit, though, was the hospitality. We had the opportunity to speak with both owners, husband and wife, which made the experience feel personal and genuine. They were welcoming, passionate, knowledgeable, and clearly invested in both the winery and the guests visiting it. The tasting room also had a lot of charm with warm wood finishes, colorful artwork, and a relaxed intimate feel that perfectly matched the winery itself. Heritage Oak Winery is exactly the kind of hidden gem people hope to discover when visiting Lodi wine country. Beautiful property, excellent wines, unique tastings, and wonderful people. We would absolutely return.
This place is beautiful and so tranquil, hidden. Lovely beautiful garden with so many Hummingbirds,I tried to record the Hummingbirds but i think i scared them off🤦♀️ wine flight are a generous pours. We went on labor day and pretty much had the place to ourselves, I mean there was very few people. Employees are informative with the wines and explained the different grapes. We met a lovely peruvian lady who been at the vineyard for 45 years. We believe she is the owner. Next time we come back, we are bringing a picnic basket. You don't have to be wine members to bring outside food, but we are really considering being members. Thank you for a beautiful time at heritage oak
We celebrated my mom's 70th here, on this past Saturday. As a decent wine aficionado I was shocked I hadn't heard anything about a winery averaging 4.8 stars and with friends raving about their Barbera and Petite Sirah the opportunity for 2 birds with 1 stone was presented... The owner set us up under an Oak tree adjacent to a vineyard.. rabbits, bright yellow Orioles (CA?), butterfly's visiting the lavender fields... It was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed the scenery with a large charcuterie board, and the kids were welcome at this vineyards outdoor area, and also enjoyed themselves with the wildlife and vegetation everywhere. When we got down to the business of celebrating the 2022 Barbera arrived with a 2018 Petite Sirah... both were OUTSTANDING... Not a comment or compliment offered lightly... The Barbera was on par with a Black Stallion of Sonoma with its wonderful flavors, paired with Brie and with roasted fig preserves, Asiago and Parmesan big shavings, and pistachio spotted mortadella, and Spanish prosciutto. The Petite Sirah was a perfect partner for salami, olives, grilled marinaded mushrooms, and dark chocolate covered cherries, and a Camembert with balsamic and Apricot spread. It was great food... Great wine... great views... And a great time ❤️💯 will definitely return based on service, scenery, scents, and AMAZING RED WINES!! (DIDN'T GET TO THE WHITES ...SORRY)
The owner of winery is the winemaker and pianist and he is excellent at both! How gifted a person can be. We were Drinking his wine and listening to his performance while watching the various birds flying around his house. I can’t imagine anything more beautiful than this. Staffs are friendly and wines are delicious
