Historic Sing Lee Laundry Artifact Exhibit

As seen on Huell Howser’s "Road Trip" to Stockton. In the 19th century, the site of what is now the City Centre Cinemas was the heart of Stockton’s first Chinatown. Archeologists from Sonoma State University excavated the site in 2000 and completed an exhibit of selected artifacts from the laundry, which was operated by Chinese immigrants from the 1890s to the 1930s. The Hotel Stockton is just one block from the original site of the laundry. The exhibit is located in the lobby of The Hotel Stockton and is open to the public.
