I had rather accidently visited Ironstone Vineyards with my family years before, vowing to come back one day and give it the time it deserved. So I was thrilled when my couple booked me to photograph their wedding at Ironstone! I would never have expected to find such a large venue in the charming but small community of Murphys. And yet this winery has emerged there as a concert venue, garden, tasting room--and quite importantly for my clients--a wedding venue. Ironstone's varied spaces and lush gardens made the perfect spot for this intimate fall wedding. The bride and groom each had ready rooms that made it easy to relax and dress for the celebration. Meanwhile, a lengthy walkway covered by a trellis was a beautiful and unique choice for staging the wedding itself. And there were so many great opportunities for newlywed portraits in wooded areas, manicured park spaces along a pond, and even a covered bridge! One particularly unique aspect of the wedding was hosting the reception in the barrel room: one part cavern, one part high ceilinged event space. The look was dim and romantic, the sound was wonderful, and the feel unforgettable. The staff were also super helpful. They offered alternatives for where to host the ceremony when it appeared some rain might begin to fall. And another staffer shuttled the couple around on a golf cart to make life easier, allowing us to visit some of the more far-flung spaces on the grounds. It was clear they were invested in making this wedding a delight. All that to say, as a I highly recommend Ironstone Vineyards for an entirely unique and picturesque wedding venue in Amador Wine Country!
We came here a few years ago and left with a membership. Each year we come to visit and the experience has been great every time. The wine is really good, for the price it is exceptional. Today, Kim went above and beyond helping me work out four shipments, helping three groups at a time, fixing cheese trays, and always with a happy smile. Thanks!
Cathy and Ian are just wonderful genuine honest sincere folks. They take customer service to a completely new level and raise the standard amazingly high. Likewise the wine is enjoyable and the food is tasty. The grounds are beautiful. If you make this vineyard a stop on a list of stops, you will forget about your other activities and enjoy a whole day here with no remorse.
This place is a must-see destination if you're up in the Gold country california. They have really good food and many wines and the grounds are amazing. They have so many historical artifacts here and also the best selection of different wine options like slushies, dessert wines and also some really nice cabs and my favorite was reserved cab franc. There's a lot of history here that it takes multiple trips to sync everything in and next time we come we'll be doing the cave tour as well which is very exciting. Quinn was our wine server and she went well beyond our expectations. She is so friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and which one she recommends. We are very grateful for this experience and will be back soon.
Absolutely a must see winery in this area of California. We got there 20 minutes before closing and Mr. Jeff was nice enough to let us stay and enjoy our tasting and check out the place for almost 45 minutes past their closing time. He was super friendly, gave us lots of information and by far this was one of our favorite wineries that we have visited in the past 2 weeks, including the ones in Napa and Sonoma. Wines are delicious across the board at a very reasonable pricing and the views are priceless. Highly recommend this winery.
