Nice grounds. A lot of construction going on right now at and around the boat launch ramp area. You can still walk to the fishing dock and fish the banks. Areas for picnics and ball and an area for kids as well. But, there's an element for crime as well. Usually there's a police presence in the area doing patrols.
Great park to spend day at water or take family for picnic or take dogs and critters to run and enjoy spending time with others fun loving pets. Or a great spot to take a book or just get away from it all.
I enjoy the spacious beautiful Lewis park by the delta. It has everything playgrounds, tennis courts, handball courts, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, beautiful trees, great barbecue pits, not to mention pixie woods, great fishing location also. The best of all is the 19 th clay horseshoe pits. I enjoy the Green Grass and the fenced in horseshoe pits. It also provides lights in the evening during the hot days it's great to pitch at night. Seeing a tournament there is amazing practicing there also is great lots of great people and a wonderful time I encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the wonderful sport that I have come to learn and love thank you Stockton for having such a wonderful Park in our community keep up the good work. Pitch on. Horseshoes is happiness.
This is a Gorgeous Park..!!..Located near one of Stocktons' several Marinas/Ports..!! *Relaxing Atmosphere *Picnics *Barbecues *Baseball Diamonds *Old oak & various shade trees *Fishing *Lots of FREE PARKING * HOME to the Fabulous & Fun "PIXIE WOODS PARK" (that's another review 😁)
Louis Park is a regular venue for softball and baseball games for all ages. I came out to watch my nephew play in his Babe Ruth league. The bleachers are concrete so be sure to bring a cushion or stadium seat. The diamonds need work and regular maintenance. My nephew is a pitcher and the mound is all jacked up. There's a hole right in front of the mound, so how is a pitcher supposed to have proper footing/formation without hurting themselves?! And, behind home plate is another hole that the catcher sits in, so how is an umpire supposed to call balls/strikes properly if the catcher sits a foot below the pitch?! The batters box isn't any better, and I can see athletes injuring themselves because of these inadequate ball fields. The parking lot is full of potholes and loose gravel and needs to be repaved. City of Stockton Parks & Rec... please fix these fields for the safety of those who are looking for fun and recreation.
Very nice place, where u can take a drive around the park &enjoy the fresh air, maybe catch a softball game (family orientated)or just go out &check out the low-rider cars that come out on weekends.convenience stores real close so u can stay hydrated 👍🏼💪🏽
It's a nice park. Not the best part of town. Pixie woods is worth taking your kids to.
Some remodeling work going on and a few urban campers but will be nice when done
Great place to fish. But currently under construction to add a new flood protection device for the Country Club Victory Park area it used to be free to park in there but I'm sure after the improvements it's going to cost 10 bucks a car load 15 to fish and 20 to launch a boat
Went on a picnic while out visiting my son. Park was under construction so rather tore up. We sat at a picnic table covered with a table cloth and thankfully we had one...tables are rotten and dirty. Cigarette butter on ground and grass dry as the desert. People were literally driving to get close to picnic tables on the grass!!?? The parking lot wasn't that far either, maybe 50/75 feet.
This park... this park is a special place. I like to go here and relax, walk, feed the millions of kittens and cats and feel like their god... things around this nature. You're sure to see some form of pure entertainment here, without even looking for it. For example, during a regular smegular walk, I witnessed an adult league baseball game. My friend and I pulled up a log and decided to stay and watch an inning from outside of the fence. Typical Louis park... because the players were good and the ball flew over the fence so we had the chance to THROW IT BACK :,D exhilarating!! What an experience. Shortly after, a few friendly kittens, a baby skunk, mama skunk and a raccoon crossed our paths, all within a 10 foot radius. Magic. I haven't seen many skunks in my lifetime, so this was very special. And random. Lol. And during the day you can also witness many colorful characters that like to camp out and chill there. I've never had any problems at this park and I've been coming here for over 10 years.
Very nice open space park, does have some homeless hanging around, but they haven't ever bothered us. We usually go to pixie woods my toddlers love it.
It was beautiful and sunny day, the grass was a little high, but there were lots of people enjoying the day. Everyone was respectful and friendly. Some played music some were enjoying and revved motorcycles. It was a very diverse group of people from all walks of life. I would go again, and I'm sure I would have another pleasant experience. This world is changing and evolving, we may not like how everyone choses to enjoy their lives. As long as everyone respects the rights of others to enjoy how they see fit, everyone will have nice day.
I think Pixie Woods is a GREAT place for kids. I'd give it 5 stars but Pixie Woods is located in a high crime area of Stockton. I'm happy Pixie Woods is gated!
I love pixie woods its huge lots of things to see and do there. And very quiet.
I was playin in the sand with friends and sliced my foot open with glass, started pouring out blood, o stitches needed just a lot of blood. Be carful in the sand, wear shoes.
Very nice looking and very nice fresh air conditioning surround Louis Park. Very good for the young kids and the family coming and having fun at the Pixie Woods. Louis Parks having many sports places, many family and community party picnic tables. Louis Park having the nice boat ramps. Louis Parks have many very nice views, for many people to enjoy relaxing. Louis Parks having alot fishing spots. Louis Park has very nice views of the International ship on the river. So, I think Louis Park very much helped me get relaxed for myself. I'm very much thankful to Louis Parks of the City Stockton, CA.
This is a gorgeous gem of a park. It could use some cleaning up of trash and such but otherwise the epitomy of a park setting!
Great place to fish, go on boat rides or just picnic at the park.
Great place to go and chill out have a little barbecue or picnic and check out the big ships go by on the delta! As well as people going by on the boats and skiing as well as jet skiing...😎👍
Overall nice, but I was cold and had to wait in the car for the rest of the soccer game
It was just very peaceful relaxing there when I visited but there's nothing for kids to do there yes I'm over there
Its good to be with the family and its fun to play and see kids/pets having fun
The park overall is laid out pretty nice with abundant space for families to get together and do any number of occasions, to a point. Parking seems adequate but keep in mind some vehicles are there as shelter and places to pursue less wholesome activities. Boat launch is straight forward and you'll access the entire delta even the bay area. Reasonable amount of space to park the trailer and vehicle pulling into consideration. Various spots for organized sports, an inner educational attraction that has been closed for years, you'll notice it when you see the artificial lake, a train track, volcano, casts of indigenous people or prehistoric ones, hard to tell from them being weathered. In its heyday definitely a gem but more recently a victim of the sign of the times, though improving. You may feel a little uncomfortable with some of the sketchiness, and not thrilled with people that occasionally aren't very concerned about trash or dog poop. I would suggest carefully examining the ground and lawn areas for needles, frankly in any park, but this one falls into the category of not wanting to go barefoot. The ride in is also a bit rough west of the freeway. There have been occasional acts of violence, but mostly within a circle that may get out of hand. It will be relatively busy on weekends with friends and families, see city of stockton for booking spaces. Middle of the week not unusual to find a couples in their vehicles making out, in their 20s, 30s, 40s, which strikes me as just occasional unfaithful types with no other place to go. It could also be perfectly Innocent.
Love it at Dad's Point. Remembering the boat races that I saw here the first time I came to Stockton with friends I made in AD "A" in the Navy late 1981. Geez just dated myself right there eh? Free to launch and recover boat ramp right on the main channel...in 35+ yrs have never had a problem there. In fact most folks at on or in the delta are most willing to help if needed.
I wish that they had more trash receptacles around the park it's really annoying to see all the litter everywhere as just a person who enjoys a nice scenery I have been trying to clean up what I can because it is such a beautiful Park and I would like others to enjoy its beauty
I love this place because it is close to my house and I caught a fish here and I can see my car from where I fish not too crowded
Pixie woods for the kids. Just big enough they don't get bored. Dads point great place to boat, watch the ships come in, or throw a line out and catch dinner. There's something for every age. And if you get thirsty the rod and gun clubs got you. Been going there 55 years. Love the place, you will too.
I love Lewis Park I've been fishing there for a long time. It was very upsetting this time when I went these cops were riding around rookie newbies out of the academy they watched us unload our cars and take our fishing gear down the hill and then when we came up to complete taking stuff out of our car tha police come over and told us that all the cars were going to be towed from that parking lot and I told them I have never heard of such a thing
Beautiful park. Went there to sit & gather my thoughts. Peaceful. I seen few people with jetskis. Great place for family barbeque. Or even just a quick walk with the dog.
It's a very open area park. There's decent spots to fish. The Pixie Wood attractions weren't open when I visited due to covid but might be in June.
This is a terrific spot to relax and hang out, if you fish and like to boat its an even better place for you. For people who have dogs and need to take them for frequent runs I would definitely suggest this place. Now I will warn you, every so often I have seen a skunk or two so be careful letting them off the leash or if you're doing a little adventuring. (Though every sighting was during a night trip I took there so bring a flashlight if you're taking an evening stroll). Also, they do have bathrooms available I would really just bring your own toilet paper, hand soap, and Lysol cleansing wipes, of clorox whichever you prefer. Be careful with parking under the trees, I've been bitten too many times by thier spiders.
This place is a chunk of Authentic Stockton. I give it 5 Stars cause I'm from Stockton and Love it Here The Boat Launch is free and offers entertainment on a busy day. People are very Friendly out there and offer a wide variety of sightseeing.
Food is great, service is something that can be improved. Our waiter was slightly rude and acted like we were an inconvenience. Kinda felt a bit odd..
Nice park, over the weekend their is baseball practice, but at night to stay safe, keep all doors locked and stay with your family and friends or group
Louis Park is a great place to have softball/baseball games. It's next to Pixie Woods amusement park and it bring back old memories from when I was a child. Downside is that the city need to fill in the huge 5 ft wide holes in the pavement into the parking area.
It’s got Pixie Woods and the San Joaquin Delta…not the best area but still a decent place to hang out.
This park really is a mixed bag. If it wasn't covered in broken glass, empty cans, and all sorts of other trash it would probably rate five stars. The sheer variety that it has to offer is incredible. It has a kids' playground, basketball court, tennis courts, two baseball diamonds, fenced-in areas, bathrooms, tons of seating for spectating sports or relaxing, wide open fields, and beautiful trees some of which even look good for climbing. The upkeep is just dismal though. I can't let my dog walk here because of all the broken glass. I have found trash of every variety all over the park. There is really no excuse for this since there are trash cans all over the park. Wrappers, bottle caps, cardboard, food waste, ruined sports gear, recycling, and so much more. I even found a piece of someone's mail! Looks like the drought hit it pretty hard and a lot of the grass is dead. Some of the trees aren't looking too healthy. It's a shame they don't take better care of it because this would be a fantastic park if they did.
I would imagine the rating would be more reflective of one's purpose for going to the park...my 5 star could very well be your no star. Seriously.
They are doing work out there so the whole back parking is closed. If you are out there bring some cat food. There are lots of cats that live there and people usually feed them in the back but since it's blocked off the cats have to come in more. It would be great if more people helped in feeding the poor cats. Thanks in advance
I Love This Park. I've been going here since I was a child and I will continue to come here and enjoy my childhood even in my adult years I do recommend fishing here and pixie Woods when it is open and any sport activity that you and your family like to play at the baseball diamond or the horseshoe pits.
