Enjoy delicious authentic Mexican food at Maria’s Taqueria & Meat Market! Tucked right off the road in a small shopping center on Thornton Road, it's known by most north side Stockton locals as one of the best places in town to get homemade tamales. They are made fresh, so make sure to ask what kinds they have to offer. On any given day they have chicken, cheese with jalapeño, pork and beef.
Their carnitas are also made fresh to order in house as soft tacos, crunchy tacos or take 1, 2, or 3 pounds of cooked meat home to make your own. You can even buy sopes already made or you can take some home to make yourself. The next time you don't want to cook try one of Maria's family meals. It comes with tortillas, rice, beans and salsa. We used Maria’s for my son’s baby shower and the food was AMAZING, fresh, hot, delicious, and very flavorful!!! Customer service was great, food was on time. Thank you for the great service Maria’s, we will use your establishment again for sure!!
The nearby store on the north side is decent, but I wasn't impressed with the beans—they just didn't live up to expectations. Additionally, their Pico de Gallo was overwhelmingly watery, with a flavor that was predominantly just tomato.
We order from here every year for any big parties we have. Their catering is unbeatable, and everyone’s bellies go home full and happy. Cannot recommend this place more!
Whether you wanna buy the stuff and cook at home or have them make it for you in their Taqueria it’s all good! The marinated chicken has a great flavor. The Asada the same. Prices are affordable. Good location. Friendly employees.
Bomb! I ordered the hardshell tacos and rice and beans and it was delicious. The hard shell is perfectly cooked and crunchy. The beans are bomb. The rice is bomb and the meat is flavorful . My boyfriend ordered the Posole on a Saturday, it was 8/10. We highly recommend this place.
