Tucked right off the road in a small shopping center on Thornton Road, it's known by most north side Stockton locals as one of the best places in town to get homemade tamales. They are made fresh, so make sure to ask what kinds they have to offer. On any given day they have chicken, cheese with jalapeño, pork and beef.
Their carnitas are also made fresh to order in house as soft tacos, crunchy tacos or take 1, 2, or 3 pounds of cooked meat home to make your own. You can even buy sopes already made or you can take some home to make yourself. The next time you don't want to cook try one of Maria's family meals. It comes with tortillas, rice, beans and salsa. Great food and great atmosphere. Employees here are friendly and very helpful. Inside is quite small but worth coming in. Food is amazing. I usually call ahead and place my order to get in and out. 5/5
I absolutely love the Carne Asada burrito sold at Maria's Taqueria. It is really big filled with all kinds of delicious goodies and plenty of carne asada. This burrito has excellent flavor and not too salty that is a plus for me. And the cost is excellent not quite $10.00. They have other kinds of burritos but this is my favorite. Its kind of a small store with several Mexican items. They don't have fresh Mexican bread but they have Conchas wrapped in cellophane for sale The Service was very good. I recommend their burritos in the place.
A local spot I go to since it's right by the house. The place is small but has what you need. They have good carnitas. You can get breakfast options or dinner plates. They have salsa and chips. There are food staples like salsa and tortillas and stuff. They have some fresh stuff in a refrigerator there. I go there sometimes when I need my sides like refried beans and rice.
Average size burrito but packs a punch in flavor, its not dry at all..I would definitely recommend..Only critique would be having sausage added as an option.
This place is great 1st time I went they r so nice and the store is clean it's like a little Casita. U feel the famliness in there. I got the carne asada and the pastor for my son's bday party and trust me all the boys had like 10 tacos. It was so bomb. The guacamole was on point too. Reasonable prices too. We were not disappointed. I'm going to go try the hot food too they offer. 😍
