Enjoy delicious authentic Mexican food at Maria’s Taqueria & Meat Market! Tucked right off the road in a small shopping center on Thornton Road, it's known by most north side Stockton locals as one of the best places in town to get homemade tamales. They are made fresh, so make sure to ask what kinds they have to offer. On any given day they have chicken, cheese with jalapeño, pork and beef.
Their carnitas are also made fresh to order in house as soft tacos, crunchy tacos or take 1, 2, or 3 pounds of cooked meat home to make your own. You can even buy sopes already made or you can take some home to make yourself. The next time you don't want to cook try one of Maria's family meals. It comes with tortillas, rice, beans and salsa. 10/06/2023 It is a small market that also sells food. I tried the cheese and jalapeno tamales and the pork tamales. Both were very good. I got a container of hot salsa and one of guacamole. These made the tamales even better. I also have tried a machaca and a chorizo burrito. They were very flavorful. I order before I go there and it is always ready when I get there. The customer service is good. The people are nice and friendly. There is plenty of parking.

Maria's it a great little taqueria, I love their carnitas burritos. They also have a little meat counter, lots of cold sodas including mexican coke in glass bottles, mexican cheeses, homemade salsas and guacamole, and a variety of sweet treats.

Great tacos (chicken, asada, Al pastor) & tamales! Beans & rice are very good as well. Also on cold days loved the chicken caldo, reys caldo & posole! Enjoyed the mixed plates as well as the family meal. We ordered the family meal several times as well for sporting events, birthday, celebrations etc. Friendly people, great service! Only 1 minor thing,... they charge you for the cilantro & onions when ordering the family meal! What?? Really?? Otherwise would have given 5+ stars.

My 1st time here. A friend of mine brought me for a take out for dinner. It's a small meat market that seems to have fresh meats, the service was fast and friendly, and the food is good. They had a steady flow of business that spoke highly of the burritos 🌯. I'll have to try one next time. I had pork tamales.

I eat there almost every day getting the same burrito(rice,bean, and cheese) and the quality and size are always consistent. The flavor is amazing and it is always a great serving size, unlike some other place do where it might be big one day and small another day. I highly recommend this place to everybody. Great prices and great food along with a wonderful staff, why go anywhere else!! There is only 5 stars for me to click on or i would give them 10 Stars

Great authentic Mexican food , they are friendly and fast . They offer catering which I have used a few times and always ready on time . And every has enjoyed the catering . If your looking for good rating Mexican food for catering or just lunch or dinner you won't find a more friendly and tasty place . They also have a meat butcher there that offers all kinds of types of prepared meats and Mexican import foods . If your having a BBQ you can stop in and get some really tasty marinated beef .

Hands down one of my favorite places to grab Mexican food to go in the area. I also grab some of their salsa for later, and odds and ends of groceries for the house. The service is quick and courteous.

One stop shop! This is my go to for just about everything, from breakfast all the way to dinner. Their produce is always fresh and meat selection is always amazing. You can have the excellent tacos or anything else you can think of to grabbing some groceries and cooking up a great meal. Friendly staff and excellent service makes this my only stop on most days!!

Game changer…hands down the best Mexican food I’ve had! The chili verde is like butter and melts in your mouth. The chicken is seasoned so well it goes with everything. The salsa’s, pico and crema’ are made fresh and all always on point! The store is very well stocked with food plus every day items you may have missed with dinner. We have purchased both prepared and raw unprepared meat to cook at home and it’s all delicious!

We tried Maria's Taqueria Tacos for the first time. The tacos were very flavorfull! I added the HOT sauce which gave them a nice kick. They also have a lesser medium sauce as well. I ordered the pollo, carnitas and asada meats tacos. I'd would definitely go back! Yum
