AnG wanted to try something new to A. G insisted on a super burrito for A. Living in California, we do get access go amazing Mexican cuisine. We get to eat so much amazing food. Right off the bat, the tortilla hit way different from other tortillas. It was delicious. The carne asada was flavorful and not salty as many as asada can be. A learned the hard way that their chilé is really spicy though. For 23.00, two burritos was well worth it, especially given the quality of the food. Thanks Nene's for a great Saturday afternoon lunch.
I came here 3 times before I reviewed. I absolutely love this place. The food is perfectly delicious evey single time. You can tell they use quality meat and other ingredients. The dish that stood out the most to me was their molcajete. Yes every place has molcajetes now but they're all mediocre and have cheap meat. Nena's molcajete was definitely exceptional. Very delicious. Like dang, they even put a milanesa (breaded carne asada) in it and It was amazingly good, in my opinion. Every single part of the molcajete was on point. The chicken, the arachera, the shrimp and again the milanesa. And the cherry on top was the hand made tortillas. Like dang, even the hand made flour tortillas aren't regular, and of course they're extra good. Even though we live around 30 minutes away, this is one of our go to's now.
After visiting St. Linus, we stopped for lunch at Nena’s on B Street, and it was excellent as always. The food is consistently delicious, the service is great, and the flour tortillas are exceptional. I believe the waterfront Nena’s is under separate ownership, and the experience there is hit or misss, but the B Street location is always reliable and consistently 10/10 for us. Even their takeout is fantastic. Highly recommend!
