This city owned facility is open to the public for use, but provides you with a private atmosphere. The staff is extremely accommodating and have fostered a beautiful environment for all players and members of the community to develop the game of tennis. They offer a full service pro-shop which is capable of same day and next day racquet repairs and maintenance to keep you from missing out on your matches. I’m getting the itch again to start playing some tennis and met with Antwan this morning to figure out how to set up matches with local players of similar skill sets. It’s been years since I’ve played and walking in to the pro shop stirred up some memories. Antwan is knowledgeable, committed to the courts playability, and was more than helpful. I look forward to swinging the racket again and becoming a regular on the courts.
Great facilities, friendly staff, affordable court rentals, loved it!
Before I start, I will give a warning about the parking lots at this facility: There are no signs that mention this, but cars parked here that have anything even slightly valuable in plain sight will be broken into. It's a sad fact, but this also happens at some other clubs here IN STOCKTON. It is strongly advised to take your valuable possessions with you to be on the safe side. There isn't an availability of police patrols at all around this area so you need to be careful. Now onto the review: The courts here have been recently resurfaced back in later part of October 2015. There's a shop with tennis equipment as well as a lounge. The facility is a little bit older than most, with only 2 restrooms in total (one Men's and one Women's). The tennis community here is friendly and they make it easy to pick up tennis matches. There are quite a couple of weekends through the year where all of the courts will be booked for USTA sanctioned tournaments, local tournaments, etc. If you are looking to play on the weekend, it's a must to call in to reserve a court in order to check for availability.
It's the best place to go and play tennis in the central valley! It's a very welcoming place and fantastic environment for anyone interested in playing tennis. Coach Antwan has done a wonderful job of creating programs and classes for all levels and ages. I appreciate how players of all abilities can go to develop their game and get some exercise. The website is also much improved and is easy to find information about the center. Definitely worth checking out if you or your children are interested in learning to play!
Oak Park Tennis is a gem in the rough. The community is strong, super nice and always ready to accept new members. Tennis activities are taking place on a daily basis and competitive tennis, USTA leagues and tournaments, are a very big part of the club. I highly recommend every tennis player in the area who is not yet familiar with Oak Park to come out and give it a try. The atmosphere and warm welcome you will find is unusual and atypical these days and you will immediately feel at home.
Great place to play tennis, and a nice community of excellent players who are regulars
This is a great place to hang out if you're looking to grow your community of tennis players!
