As seen on Huell Howser’s "Road Trip" to Stockton in 2007, the Stockton Cambodian Buddhist Temple features over 90 colorful and larger than life jewel encrusted statues that celebrate the life and story of the Cambodian Buddha. You have to see it to believe it....the temple boasts a 50 foot long recumbent Buddha. Also home to the annual Cambodian New Year Celebration in April.

It's a cambodian temple with lots of statues outside in the plaza. Felt like we were not in California but in Asia. It's a pity that all the plaques are written in cambodian and we are not familiar with their religious stories, so we didn't know what those statues are. We came on a weekday. There were only us. Cool place to spend 20 min. if you pass here.
Such a peaceful and beautiful place. Tables to relax in the shade you can also have a picnic. Plenty of parking Free! There are donation boxes at each sculpture so take cash! So all can continue to enjoy.
Good place to visit once. Enough parking, no entry fee, don't expect to get food inside. Bring your own food, plenty of tables to sit and enjoy food. Lots of great idols and statues. Maybe a maximum of 30 mins can be spent
Peaceful Spiritual place. It’s a hidden gem. Calm and clean place. Plenty of space for walking. Loved the time we spend there
I admire the Buddha statues because it dates back to the Cambodia, and although I don’t understand the scriptures, I would like to come back for the next tour. The artworks are beautiful to see from painting and sculptures with gems.
I love taking my kids and my wife here it is such a peaceful place and everyone is very welcoming. It is free to go in and walk around and look but we always bring about $30 with us in $1 bills so we can put them in the donation boxes. So if you do go here just be respectful and be thankful that we have places like this to go visit to learn other people's culture and how they live. Like I said it is a great place to take the kids to the statues are giant and the kids feel tiny when they stand next to. I just want to thank them for letting us come in on their property and visit their statues my family respects this property highly.
Very pleasant place to visit Wish they had translation in English for all the sculptures, these sculptures tell a lot of stories about Gauthama Buddha
An interesting site. My favorite spot is the lily pad pond with turtles. There are many brightly colored statues. A unique spot to visit.
We visited this place last weekend. It’s nice. They are still beautifying this place and lot of work is required but you can go and see the big statues of the deities and know how it must be in Cambodia.
I'm so blessed to have gotten to experience this wonderful place today. The gentleman I talked to was so awesome I really enjoyed all of the statues, artwork and culture that is embodied inside these walls.
Huge statues of Buddha and many other statues , divine , peaceful place. Parking is in the field, plenty of place. Chicken and cats were roaming around. We are planning to visit during cambodian new year’s eve which will start on April 13th.
What a great opportunity to learn more about Buddhist culture. The statues are very ornate and detailed telling a chronological history of Buddha's life. The grounds were very peaceful. And while we did our best to adhere to proper etiquette, no one was there to judge our behavior. Definitely worth an afternoon visit.
Lots to see. Fortunate enough to go inside the temple as they were setting up for a wedding. Loved watching others practice traditional Buddhist prayers while there too.
People at this temple are humble and polite. It is very good place for learning new things about history of Cambodia.
It's the only BIG Cambodian Buddhist Temple in California with vast land for free parking on Cambodian New Year that's the time you should come with so many foods choices to choose. They usually celebrate 4 days. FREE admission for everyone or school trip.
Buddhist Temple in Stockton, CA. Buddha’s life story is depicted through huge statues in the grounds. A peaceful venue to calm the mind and learn about Gautam Buddha.
Pleasant place, very relaxing and calm. Its spacious, outdoor and no crowd. No worries about corona.
I grew up going here and every single time I go there I absolutely love it. So incredibly beautiful!!
Beautiful open space. Clean. Peaceful. Big and clean restrooms available and open. Great family destination. Highly recommended.
Very nice place.. repair at the temple and surrounding construction going on... Am sure once all done, it will be a great place
Its nice place to visit. Specially for family . Nice environment, clean, quite . I love this place.
Tranquil, awesome sculpture, great display of God's and goddesses that represents culture. Loved it. Lord Buddha was born in Kapilvastu, Lumbini, Nepal.
Excellent depiction of lord Buddha. Must see for the art lovers and buddhism followers..
Enjoyed the tranquil and pretty much unrestricted access. You are allowed to tour by yourself and they trust you be a good visitor. Lots of space to have a family picnic lunch (bring your own vegetarian food) and facilities are clean.
Love it. Come visit the Khmer Culture. Interact with monks. Have a picnic.get blessed enjoy yourself in tranquility
Very peaceful and spiritual temple close to bay area with little over 1 hr drive. Beautiful place with lots of Lord Buddha's lively statues. We can see the whole journey of Lord buddha from childhood and how and where he attained enlightenment and became the Buddha . We can see the big Bo trees there . . Very well maintained and less crowded. Staff is also very helpful. Temple is beautifully decorated with big Buddha statue . There is a big sleeping Buddha statue. Good place to spend relaxing time with friends and family.
Beautiful temple. Amazing statues. This is my favorite place in the world.
The temple is beautiful. Peaceful and very nice garden. But the restrooms need to be kept cleaned for hygienic point of view and also for a healthy feeling. But rather the restrooms were kept very filthy. The staff should be responsible to take care of it and also specially during Covid times.
Really cool statues and a neat stage that I imagine hosts some pretty cool events. Nothing was going on when we stopped by.
We used to do holidays in Thailand frequently when we lived in Asia, and this temple really makes you feel like you're there! Beautifully maintained, not too busy, peaceful and impressive. Worth a visit, and a unique thing to do in the area.
Love the nice and quite places. The monk was very nice and friendly to all the guests. Highly recommended!
