Overview
Twisted Barrel Winery offers a new take on an old art. As one of Lodi’s boutique-style wineries, the family business is creating small lot, quality wines that specialize in Italian, Spanish and Portuguese varietals.
The winery combines family, friendship and an open door policy to raise the bar and create an all inclusive tasting experience for all to enjoy. Extra touches come into play in the tasting room – tasty tidbits, music and no-pressure-vibe.
They invite you to visit and see how they do things...Twisted Barrel style!
Tasting Fee: $10, waived with purchase of a bottle

My husband and I visited the Twisted Barrel Winery last week. We walked into a very small space which we thought was the tasting room. We were welcomed in by Denise, who explained their tasting atmosphere. We were invited to go into their tasting room, which was a very warm inviting area, which felt very homie. At that time we met Mark who is the father of the winemaker, extremely friendly, wanted us to be comfortable and get us started with our wine tasting and offered a fresh array of popcorn. Then we were greeted by the winemaker‘s wife, who was professional , and very kind, showing us the wine tasting menus explaining the differences of the wines and the wine menus. We helped ourselves to the popcorn and she helped us work through the menu and we ordered our wine tasting. The wine tasting was enjoyable sitting in a homie atmosphere however, surrounded by wine barrels. We asked a lot of questions and she was very kind and answered as many as she was able and informed us that her husband would be coming along soon and that he was the wine maker and would be able to answer all of our questions. The winemaker Brock came in and introduced himself and answered all the questions. We were very proud for him because he worked very hard to get where he is. He’s very dedicated to the success of the Winery. He has built his business on the friendships of other wineries, and the local grape growers. In short, it’s a family owned winery, a boutique winery with some unique wines, which made it fun. The tasting room was very inviting and warm. The people that work there seemed to be family and made you feel at home. What I found interesting was they had a couple fees besides the tasting fee, tip, taxes and there was a Wine Grape Commission fee and a California bottling fee. Both minimal but still different only because I had never been charged those fees before in Lodi.
Excellent 2022 Albarino and ambiance. Live music and a warm setting inside where there’s a buffet for this evening’s party and fire pits and plenty of additional seating right outside for an open feel.
This is another place you're made to feel like old friends. This is family owned and they welcome you with a genuine warmth. Denise (mom of the family) is your hostess and along with excellent wine usually has a home made treat to offer up. Its a place you immediately become friends with other patrons. I had the Cab...excellent ! And my gentleman had the Zin. P.S...NO small pours here! Check their schedule as they are not open everyday, but usually open at noon over the weekend. Highly Recommended!!
I had a nice wine tasting experience here. Owner's wife is host. She's a great server and provides a lot of information about her wines and makes recommendations. Their website is outdated/not updated. It states all wines are $23 but is not true because whe you visit the tasting room, those same wine varieties (more $) are $28-$32 per bottle or some wines are sold out. Otherwise this one of my favorite wineries in the Lodi area.
