This hotel with it being a few years old now. Still holding together pretty well. The rooms are very spacious. Our room had a full size fridge, and microwave. The bathroom was very roomy. The beds were comfortable. Decent view from our room of the water area. I did over here. Some other guests were talking about how their room had a funky smell. But I did not experience this in our room. Might be time for a little upgrade. I will definitely stay here again.
I recently stayed at the University Plaza Waterfront Hotel while passing through Stockton. The hotel itself was okay—clean enough, and the location by the water is nice. The room was decent and met basic expectations for a short stay. That said, there were a few issues. There seemed to be a lot of non-guests hanging around—friends of guests coming and going, especially in the evening—which made the lobby and hallways feel a bit crowded and less secure. It didn’t feel unsafe exactly, but it wasn’t as quiet or relaxed as I expected. Parking was also a challenge at times. The lot filled up quickly, and we had to circle a few times to find a spot, especially later at night. Overall, if you’re in town for a quick stay and don’t mind a livelier atmosphere, it’s manageable. — Kemoshire | Honest reviews. If I visit it, I review it.

Check in was pretty quick as I completed pre check requirements (which included uploading a photo of your drivers license). There were several large groups of people who arrived after me, and only one person checking people in. Therefore, if you wanted a snack for your room, you had to wait in a long line. Regarding the room: My room was clean, and a little small, and only had a view of a parking lot. The outdoor aesthetics for the pool / social area were beautiful - with the lawn greenery, and outdoor seating. There is a small pool and spa as well. The indoor area was fairly clean, though it could have used a mop. (Why have white floors if you’re not going to clean them regularly?) The restaurant was reasonably priced and offered a full menu: burgers, fish, steak, appetizers and etc. The breakfast buffet, I felt, was worth the cost (approximately $18). They offered bacon, sausage, potatoes, eggs, pancakes, yogurt, and fresh fruit. However, My concerns echo others as I would agree to not go outdoors after night, and that there was some rifraff that I could hear from my room (loud music, people yelling, etc). Though I did see security stationed outside, I didn’t necessarily feel safer. The other negative that I will mention is the $20 “resort fee” not noted when I reserved the room. I would not have reserved the room had I known, and chosen a different location. The other negative is that the a/c unit and the fridge were incredibly noisy, and the toilet lifted off the ground when I sat on it (no, I’m not heavy). Overall, though beautiful on the outside, I would not stay here again.
Good services and staff is very nice. However, don’t plan on watching any sports in your room. No ESPN. Motel 6 has ESPN. Don’t understand that the Bar has ESPN but in your room that’s a big negative. Maybe they want you down stairs buying drinks and food.
