Woolly Mammoth Bones @ San Joaquin County Administration Building
Overview
In 2007 when the San Joaquin County Administration Building was being constructed on the corner of San Joaquin Street and Weber Avenue, construction crews unearthed woolly mammoth bones that had been buried 65 feet under the earth for approximately 12,000 years. You can see this amazing find for yourself--the bones are still on display in the building's lobby.
