Back by popular demand, the 2nd annual 5/4-Dave Brubeck/'May the 4th be with you' day Concert is back at Zion Lutheran church, home of the annual January Zion chamber series!
With not one song in 4/4, this concert will feature iconic Brubeck tunes like 'Take 5,' two selections from Brubeck's 'To Hope!' Mass as well as other tunes, and include special guests like Paul Kimball, maestro of the Zion Chamber festival on French horn debuting a new composition by local composer Max Simoncic; with Zion's Music Director Rhondda Nunes on piano. Also featured will be a new version of Nunes' arrangement of John Williams' iconic 'Star Wars' theme in 5/4, with a new version of the 'Imperial Waltz' in 3/4!
With Zion Lutheran's chamber choir and other special guests this will be an evening of excitement and joy, all jazz and Star Wars fans are encouraged to come out to Zion and join the 5/4 Concert Day of celebration!
