Crush Colon Cancer 5K Walk

Crush Colon Cancer Organization along with their Sponsors, Kaiser Permanente, The People’s Empowerment Center (TPEC), The Echo Chamber Project, Just Healing Community Store, Constancy Arts, and Expressive Movement and Yoga Practice will be joining forces in the fight against Colon Cancer.

Did you know according to American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), "Colorectal cancer is cancer of the colon or rectum and is the third-leading cause of cancer death in the United States for both men and women, accounting for over 50,000 deaths a year. But 90 percent of all colorectal cancer cases and deaths are preventable by removing polyps and cancer can be successfully treated — and often cured — when detected early. That is why screening for prevention and early detection is so important".

Please join this coalition of nonprofits in attending this walk to promote awareness, early detection in colon screening, and a cure for colon cancer on Saturday, March 25th starting at 7 am. Hear other amazing healers, wellness coaches and the Executive Director of Crush Colon Cancer Organization, Shawna Brown tell her amazing story of survival and healing from colon cancer.

RC Thompson, ACSW of TPEC will be conducting a grounding, guided meditation and stretch exercise and introducing Black Yoga specialist, Shawnteona Murray of Constancy Arts and Expressive Movement to our community.

We know stress and trauma often leads to abdominal constriction and sometimes poor eating habits. Join us in learning new ways on how to decrease stress and anxiety as well as engage in healthy eating habits.

There will Music by DJ Fayette Latrice, African drumming, table resources and vegan food vendors and dessert options for the community.

If you will like to join our cause we are requesting $50.00 donation sponsorship for each participant walking. Please call (209) 688-8887 for more information and visit our event on Facebook events or on Eventbrite to donate to our cause, links are below.
