Diaspora Stories: Artist Talk with Photographer Rashod Taylor
Overview
In conjunction with the “Diaspora Stories: Memory and Belonging” exhibition at the Horton Art Gallery, exhibiting photographer Rashod Taylor will present slides and discussion of his work. His tintype photographic series, “My America”, on display in the Gallery, examines what it’s like to live in America as a Black man. Rashod states, “My exploration of the land extends beyond visual documentation; it extends into the intricate layers of history, memory and human experience.”
The Diaspora Stories exhibition opens that evening, March 5th, with a reception at the Horton Gallery, on the campus of San Joaquin Delta College in Shima 144, from 5-7pm, and runs through April 3. The exhibition and events are free and open to the public.
