Intro to Sculling Level 1
Overview
A small group, four-session course designed for those who have never picked up an oar. The curriculum covers technique in stable single and two-person boats, rowing terminology, safety practices, boat handling and navigation of local waterways.
'Schedule: July 21-24 5:45 to 7:45 AM, Monday – Friday (Friday will be an optional day in case of postponement earlier in the week due to bad weather.)
Format: Four sessions, each lasting 2 hours, conducted with expert coaching at Buckley Cove and on the Stockton Deep Water Channel. Ratio: one instructor to two participants.
Cost: $280 or $500 for two participants (if you sign up with a buddy), which includes:
Two optional Saturday bonus sessions with DSC Novice Masters following Level I—extra opportunities to build skills and confidence on the water.
Use of DSC equipment during Level 1 and the trial Saturdays.
Opportunities to become certified in a single shell and participate in other DSC programs.
