National Vietnam War Veterans Day Ceremony
Annual Event
Overview
VFW Post 52 invites our community to gather in solemn gratitude as we honor the men and women who served during the Vietnam War—heroes who answered the call of duty and upheld the highest traditions of our Nation. This ceremony stands as part of our national promise to give every Vietnam Veteran the long‑overdue “Welcome Home” they earned through courage, sacrifice, and unwavering service.
We are honored to feature Joseph F. Maes, Vietnam combat veteran and author of My Spiritual Walks as a Wolfhound. A former grunt who walked the paddies and jungles of Vietnam, Maes shares a powerful reflection on faith, memory, and the bonds forged in war.
Together, we will recognize the families who carried the weight of absence, the fallen who gave their last full measure of devotion, and all who returned to a Nation that did not always show the gratitude they deserved. Today, we stand united to say what should have been said long ago: Thank you, and Welcome Home.
