Location: Multiple parking spots throughout Downtown Stockton
Time: 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
This event has passed but is here for informational purposes.
Park(ing) Day originated in San Francisco in 2005 as a way to re-imagine urban landscapes and has since grown into an event held internationally every third Friday in September. The idea behind Park(ing) Day is for individuals living/working in urban areas to think about what that space would look like if cars were replaced with public space (and public transit).
Multiple Downtown Stockton businesses and organizations will participate this year and will create spaces such as outdoor art galleries, interactive game zones, and mini-concerts.
Parklets, bicycle parking, art installations, interactive spaces... the possibilities are endless! Come Downtown (by bike, bus, or foot if you can!) and explore what's possible when we get creative about what public space can really be.
