Show Up for Louis Park: Community Tree Planting & Park Restoration Day
Overview
Join Tree Stockton and community partners for Show Up for Louis Park on Saturday, May 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Louis Park, located at 2121 Monte Diablo Avenue -meet at the west end parking lot near Dad's Point.
This hands on community event is focused on restoring and beautifying one of Stockton’s historic park. Volunteers will assist with planting and staking trees in pre dug holes, cutting back invasive species, planting a native garden, painting concrete barriers, and participating in community art projects. It is about three hours of light, guided work suitable for individuals, families, and groups who want to make a visible impact.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about proper tree planting, native landscaping, and the importance of invasive species removal. Tree giveaways and additional prizes from local Stockton businesses will be available, and food will be provided during the event for breakfast and lunch.
Participants will meet at the west end of the Louis Park parking lot. Registration is required at TreeStockton.org.
