Overview
Gerald Finzi (1901-56) began his composition, Intimations of Immortality, in the late 1930s, though the work was not completed until shortly before its premiere September 5, 1950. Finzi loved poetry and this choral masterwork demonstrates his care for the words of William Wordsworth. He brings a sensitivity to the text that is rare in a composition of this magnitude.
