Prepare to experience a once in a lifetime event as your imagination takes control and you are immersed into the deep woods of Caballococha, Peru. Stroll through the mesmerizing displays as you follow in the footsteps of Koda, a fearless 8 year old boy, and join in his journey throughout the magical forest. The larger than life illuminated lanterns evoke the imagination and make memories that will last a lifetime for you and your children. Unlike anything you have ever seen, this festival will be one to visit time after time while the Stockton Ball Park hosts this magnificent display of lanterns.
It is truly an adventure for all ages to wander through the breathtaking art installations, attentively hand crafted by lantern artisans using the ancient technique of traditional Chinese lantern making. With a rich history spanning over 2,000 years, this extraordinary art form brings together tens of thousands of vibrant LED lights, an exquisite palette of colors, and a fusion of metal and fabric. Upon every turn in your journey a new impressive creature seemingly comes to life before your eyes. Smoke breathing dragons, color changing peacocks, butterflies, flowers, trees, insects, fairies, owls, all create a dream filled forest full of color for the child in everyone. Boasting hundreds of larger than life lanterns with the tallest being 50 feet high and the longest nearly 100 feet wide, 20,000 LED bulbs and over 82,000 feet of light rope and 11,500 feet of fabric are used to create this extraordinary event. The lantern displays are designed and handcrafted by the artisan team of Tianyu Arts & Culture Inc., the biggest lantern festival producer in the U.S.
The visual experience of the Magic Forest is accompanied by live stage performances showcasing an eclectic array of musical talent, dance and acrobatics. Please visit our website, social media, or call us at 209.373.1400 in the case of extreme weather conditions and/or slippery road/surface conditions for details on cancelations and rescheduled tickets. Re-entry is NOT permitted for Stockton Lantern Festival. Entry into Stockton Lantern Festival will stop at 9PM and the lanterns go dark at 10PM.
