The Zion Chamber Orchestra Festival (formerly Saint John's) is a three concert series that offers the finest music in an intimate, inviting setting featuring the best instrumental and vocal talent in the Valley. Conductor Paul Kimball presides over this event at Zion Lutheran Church.
Concert #1 – Zion Chamber Orchestra
5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022
The gala opening concert features violin soloist Dr. Ann Miller in Beethoven’s profound Violin Concerto in D Major. The program includes Mozart’s rousing Overture to The Marriage of Figaro and Schumann’s epic Symphony No. 2 in C Major.
Concert #2 – Zion Chamber Orchestra

Frank Wiens headlines the second concert performing Chopin’s delicate Piano Concerto No. 2 in F Minor. Also at this concert will be the debut performance of the evocative As You Fly, composed by Stockton’s Ruth Britten, Debussy’s colorful Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, and Kodaly’s Hungarian Dances of Galanta.
Concert #3 – Zion Pops Choir

The swinging songs of Sammy, Frank and Dean will wrap up our annual festival. Pianist Tom Coyan will accompany the 40-voice Zion Pops Choir. Singers from all over San Joaquin County form a snappy and exciting vocal ensemble that is entertaining and inspiring!
Tickets may be purchased at Zion Lutheran Church, 9 am – 1 pm, Monday through Thursday. Tickets will also be available at the door, starting 30 minutes before each performance. All seats are unreserved. This concert will be in compliance with the COVID health and safety guidelines in place at the time of the concert.
