They are Stockton's extremely talented women warriors of the pitch, and they will make you stand and cheer with every shot at the goal!
Futbol. Soccer. The beautiful game. Whatever name it goes by, the global sport's popularity has only grown with every passing year, fueling the creation of numerous leagues. One of those leagues is the USL W League, and it features the amazing Stockton Cargo SC. Since their brand unveiling in August 2022 and their inaugural season in 2023, the Stockton Cargo have provided only the best in exciting footwork, blazing past defenders and sending glorious shots into the back of the net—and we think they're deserving of an even grander spotlight.
So, we got in touch with Stockton Cargo SC General Manager Hannah Diaz to give us a few reasons why YOU should attend a Stockton Cargo game. Check it out!
Our players are our centerpiece.General Manager Hannah Diaz
1. The Players
As Diaz puts it, The Stockton Cargo is filled with high-level athletes, role models, and ambitious young women who are looking to make a name for themselves. They are overlooked talent showcasing different pathways young athletic women can take to pursue excellence.
"Women and girls in Stockton deserve environments that feel visible, energetic, and supported. Our goal for our players and our community programs is to give young females a space to build confidence and find their stride."
Competing against bigger/wealthier clubs, we are small-market mentality fueled by gritty culture and community pride.General Manager Hannah Diaz
2. The Underdog Empire
The Stockton Cargo is a team that never quits. Whether they're up by a lot or down by a few, the Cargo doesn't stop fighting until the final whistle, which is exactly what you want from an exciting, die-hard team. When your team has its back against the wall, you want to see the fire grow brighter and witness a comeback story you can tell your friends and family about. That is exactly the vibe the Cargo brings.
"We are a team that never stops. We have numerous comeback/last minute wins, and we are that way because of the character of our players. They have something to prove. They have chips on their collective shoulders."
We wanted to create a space for small business, a place that is separate from soccer but still brings people together the same way.General Manager Hannah Diaz
3. The Yard & the match-day atmosphere
When you check out a Cargo game at St. Mary's High School, you're not just getting superb soccer action from a talented team. You're also there for the community atmosphere. Before and during a game, you'll witness a designated space filled with food trucks, local vendors, music, and a genuinely unique Stockton experience with our community.
"Our hope is for this space to take on its own identity and that the community feels ownership in it. Hopefully, long term, we can make The Yard year-round for vendors... a space for families."

4. More than a club...
The Stockton Cargo are more than just a soccer club. They are a community club, rooted deep in the betterment of the people of Stockton. With Cargo Kids Camp, local kids ages 7-14 get to learn the basics of the game from the Stockton Cargo for FREE. With the Legacy Program, Stockton Cargo players mentor young soccer players in the 209, as well as other forms of outreach and educational workshops with their sponsors. Plus, they also lead the "Loyal to the Soil" initiative, where the team plants a tree in Stockton for every goal they score. In the 2025 season, they scored 41 goals!!
We aren't selling soccer tickets, we're selling the opportunity to be part of the journey of each player.General Manager Hannah Diaz
5. Fans who come to one game, come back for more
The atmosphere. The accessibility. The connection to the players. With every game you attend, you build a deeper connection to this team. You become part of an authentic experience. A team loyal to their city and dedicated to representing it by putting on a clinic of pure soccer out on the pitch.
"We aren't the normal team or club, and I think that alone keeps people coming back."
With that, we're going to have General Manager Diaz take the final word here:
We aren't just building a team. We're building an environment and culture that people in Stockton can call theirs. We hope that the community feels pride in us.General Manager Hannah Diaz
