Yay, Sports!

Oh, you want sports? We'll give you sports! The amount of special tournaments happening in Stockton this month is enough to require its own blog—so we made one. Click here for the special tournaments going down in May, including NCAA golf!

Feast at the Fox

The annual tradition returns after a long, two-year absence! Feast at the Fox returns to the Bob Hope (Fox) Theatre on Friday, May 6. This SOLD OUT event focuses on the importance of "farm to table" featuring an extraordinary five-course menu created by local chefs, made exclusively from ingredients harvested from San Joaquin County fields within 30 minutes of Stockton.

Asparagus Festival

Another Stockton tradition continues this year with the Asparagus Festival returning to the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds on May 6 - 8. The weather should be perfect to bring your family and friends and enjoy Asparagus Alley—where you'll find some deep-fried asparagus & asparagus ice cream—Craft Beer & Wine Pavilion, Kids Zone with carnival rides & games, and so much more. Be sure to make it to this one!

Mt. Westmore

The hip-hop supergroup Mt. Westmore makes its way to the 209 this month! Rap icons Snoop Dogg, E-40, Too Short, and Ice Cube will be performing LIVE at the Stockon Arena on Thursday, May 26. These four pioneers have cemented their legacies in the music industry individually, and now they've formed their own clique. They're basically the nWo of hip hop! You do NOT want to miss this opportunity to hear them live and throw the W in the air.

More Fun in Stockton

  • Stockton Civic Theatre presents An Evening of 10 Minute Plays. Performing on their stage from May 13 - 22, SCT will present dramatic and hilarious stories from 8 different playwrights and directors. Enjoy an entertaining evening of diverse storytelling and performances. Also, you can look into the SCT Summer Youth Theatre Program for your little thespians in the family. Registration is open until June 4.
  • The Stockton Symphony will honor the amazing journey of astronaut José M. Hernández with their special Coming Full Circle performance on Sunday, May 15. With conductor Pete Jaffe leading a presentation of selections that range from La Bamba and Bésame mucho to Star Trek and Star Wars, this will definitely be a show to remember.
  • Stockton Cruise Night kicks off on Thursday, May 19 on the Miracle Mile. The lineup starts at 6 pm at the Gian's Deli parking lot and heads out from there, lasting until 8 pm. This is a great night out checking out beautiful classic cars and visiting the local shops on Pacific Ave.
