After last year's tight restrictions, restaurants have a bit more leeway in how they mark Cinco de Mayo this year. The following spots have some fun promotions in place to welcome you back.
The celebration at this Stockton hot-spot starts at 6 pm and runs until 9 pm. In that time enjoy live music from a mariachi band and free churros (while supplies last). In addition to their amazing food, there will be a vendor outside selling snacks. Pro-tip, Don Luis' is on the Stockton Taco Trail, so you can get one of your check-ins done while you're here.
Head over to Octavio's from 4 - 8:30 pm for tunes spun by a local DJ and all the amazing, authentic Mexican food that their menu is famous for. Bonus, Octavio's is also participating in the Stockton Taco Trail, so here's another opportunity to get close to earning those rewards.
If you've missed out on sharing your singing skills during the pandemic, then Arté del Café has the celebration you need to attend. Their Cinco de Mayo event includes Open Mic Night from 4 - 8 pm. Take in some tunes or sing a few yourself, order a plate of nachos or keep awake with some coffee while also enjoying the art in the Mexican Heritage Center.
Cinco de Mayo is the perfect time for Fat City Brew & BBQ to launch their "First Wednesdays on the Miracle Mile" events. Participating businesses on the Miracle Mile will extent their hours while other merchants and local makers will showcase their goods popup shop style. Fat City is offering $5 sangria during the event, which runs from 5 - 8 pm.
You probably know Mezzo for it's traditional Italian cuisine, but for Cinco de Mayo they're changing things up and featuring a Mexican-inspired menu. Their specials include grilled steak fajitas, fish tacos, vegetable flautas or cheese quesadillas. It all sounds amazing, but the fajitas are especially enticing. With fresh, house-made guacamole and pico de gallo, they should make for a perfectly festive feast.
