On 03/04 my daughter invited me for my first time here at the house of shaw coffee shop. The young lady was very nice and helpful. Brew coffee was very delicious. Will be back soon.
As a celiac, I often struggle when eating out. There’s not a lot gluten free options and many place aren’t educated about cross contamination. But that is not the case for House of Shaw. The owner was extremely helpful and educated on food safety and cross contamination. She went above and beyond for me! I got the turkey on a gluten free bagel bun, and my partner got a regular breakfast croissant. This was our first time here and we will definitely be back. Great food, great coffee and great atmosphere!
I had a special Meatloaf sandwich during Stockton's Restaurant Week and the meatloaf was good but I would have preferred ketchup with the mayo instead of mustard, My sandwich was missing cheese but not a bad thing for me but it didn't have tomato or onion either. I should have asked. The special included a desert of cookie or brownie and a drink, and they were able to substitute the last cup of coffee instead of soda/tea which was cool, but a little over an hour before closing they didn't make any more coffee, 😞 no second cup today. My wife got the pork sliders which in addition to a small salad which I got as a side, hers came with a small cole slaw (mayo free) which is how she likes slaw. She enjoyed her meal as did I.Her brownie and my cookie were very tasty. The place was clean with quite a bit of room. Staff was friendly and polite and meal was served quickly.
We weren't ready to order right away, but then the waitress took awhile to return. Also took awhile to get our check. Tomato soup was thin. Pastrami sandwich was OK. If I go back, I would probably have the roast beef sandwich. I ordered pastries to go. They were delicious! Price seemed OK. Everything is so expensive nowadays. They have to cover their costs and make a profit in order to stay in business!
This was my first time being here. The place was used for a work meeting. The environment allowed for a great conversation along with great service for some Coffee drinks! I would definitely go back and try some of their sandwiches!! My only watch out is the parking situation so plan on going early to find a spot!!
