I really liked this hotel. I should have come early to take advantage of their pool. The room was fantastic, the bathroom beautiful I just have to get used to a shower with no door. Starbucks was down the street a 10 for me.. LoL Staff was super friendly and helpful ❤️
Love the courtyard the best..when no other dogs are out there it's a perfect place to fetch the ball with the puppy. And there's very rarely any dogs there. The pool is welcoming, but un naturally cold. Rooms are spaceous; some nicer than others. Staff is friendly which right there has all Stockton hotels beat.
Super nice. Great security and safe parking. A little pricey but its well worth the price. There's a gym. Bar. And a pool. So its kinda high end.
I don't know why everyone is saying that the staff here are rude or unprofessional. Everyone I encountered employed at this hotel was super chill, attentive, and made my stay as pleasant as they possibly could. I gave the rooms 4 stars not because of the room but because the parking lot being across the street is a little inconvenient. Especially since I had to take everything out of my car, and I kind of over packed. Wasn't trying to tempt a car prowler. The homeless around this hotel seemed pretty scarce in my opinion, but that's probably just because I'm used to Seattle, where the homeless situation is off the hook. Oh and by the way, aesthetically this hotel is dope. View/decor/vibe
The hotel rooms are beautiful, housekeeping is thorough, the concierge staff is super friendly professional and helpful with good recommendations for enjoying the area. The bar, hot tub and pool were all clean and I was surprised to learn they had a gym. Its also super close to everything.
Wow! BEST HOTEL IN STOCKTON! Do not stay anywhere else. Worth every penny. You can eat, sleep and even drink here with no worries. Security and amazing staff!!
Nice hotel, service was very good. Room showed some minor ware and tare. FYI the charge a 20.00 a day resort fee that was not disclosed when I booked the resort. I would stay here again.
Location is nice. Jacuzzi is nice and hot. They have pool tables and a ping pong table with plenty of outdoor seating.
We're here do to construction to my home.. so that means a long stay.. my child is a non verbal autistic beautiful lil boy ,this location is amazing!!! We had an incident at a other hotel in Lodi and we're asked to leave because my child's stemming made guest feel uneasy. So we came here! As soon as we checked in Mary on of the front desk reps heard my story and insured me my son was more than welcome here!! And that will NEVER happen here!! She was right!! she told staff about my child and everyone!!! I mean everyone!! Has welcomed us with open arms..what makes it even better.. they all treat my child with the respect he deserves!!! Thank you Mary!!!! And staff!!!!
I was surprised to see any bad reviews of this place. My husband and I have stayed here 4 or 5 times in the past year, it is the only place we ever consider staying each time we come to town. The beds have always been large (king sized), fluffy, clean and comfy. The rooms are always perfect, each and every employee has always been super friendly and helpful. Our last visit I did notice additional security personnel, which is always good but although there is a lot of homeless and drug activity nearby, that has never effected our stay at all. The one and only negative is the ridiculous deposit for "incidentals" they make you put down... seeing as they do not have any room services, I don't get it, although on the other hand that deposit probably does tend to keep the riff raff out. As I said, it was surprising to see any bad reviews at all, I know we will be back and I recommend this place to anyone. Iv we never been disappointed
Stayed here when I was passing through town. Overall it was a good experience. Staff were helpful & friendly. Room was clean and well stocked. I was surprised to see a full size fridge in the room which was nice. Unfortunately there was only a shower and no tub but had good water pressure. Downside was it was a weekend and there were lots of young adults roaming around and I was woken up two times throughout the night to intoxicated people roaming on my floor. It’s not the hotels fault just annoying people. And the hotel is located in an area I wouldn’t necessarily go for a stroll in if you know what I mean. Luckily I just hunkered down, ordered take out and chilled in my room.
Had their Salmon salad dish, it was top notch, salmon was fresh. Their yard had a pool, the game pool, and about plenty of space to walk and sit. I give 4 stars. Only thing they lacked was security presence, need more patrols in the area, anyone(and I mean homeless) can walk in and enter the family areas.
We had stayed in a motel not far from here and it was horrible. I made reservations at University Plaza and I was very pleased. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms we very clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were very spacious with a wonderful walk in shower. Checking in and out was easy. Though the restaurant is only open from 4-10pm they do have a small convenience store next to the front desk. The central location is easy access to the freeways. Will definitely return on our next trip to Stockton
Nice room and great views, room set up was comfortable. Awesome location right next door to the stockton arena didn't have to go far to the concert I seen. Definitely will come stay again, I will make time to try the awesome looking pool they have!
Even though the staff from the front desk to the bartender were great, the rooms and amenities left a little to be desired. The shower was cool and modern, with good water pressure but the toilet took 3 flushes just to get a #1 down. My bedside lamp didn't work and the coffee maker from the 90s. A lot of modern mixed with old school but not on purpose. It was like they're upgrading things one at a time.
This was a very mediocre hotel. I don't believe that this place is worth the money that is being spent here. It seems new and upscale from first impressions, but once you get into the room, you realize this hotel has some age to it. It definitely needs some kind of remodeling and the furniture needs to be replaced. Honestly, I would rather save my money and stay somewhere else. If I am going to spend upscale money, I would like to have an upscale room.
Nice hotel in the heart of Stockton. Rooms are clean and updated. Pool area is top notch. Lots of area to relax. Fire pits are available. Full bar inside. Great place for people from out of town looking for a nice hotel in this area. Didn’t personally try the restaurant but I’ve heard it’s good.
Really nice hotel, but the homeless druggies that surround the hotel is too much. They are EVERYWHERE! This town had good intentions years ago and the waterfront was probably a really neat place back in the day. But now, can't even enjoy a walk around it with being harassed. Hotel is nice, but I wouldn't venture off too far if I were you.....
We ate at the restaurant in the hotel and it was great! Our waiter Paul was wonderful! So accommodating with any request we had. The while staff was so helpful. We had a handicapped person with us and they helped with serving us outside of the restaurant area, so nice of them! Salads were huge and so yummy, so bring your appetite!
Best hotel to stay at! Food was delicious in the restaurant. Full bar and beautiful lounge to enjoy looking out over the waterfront. Rooms were fresh and clean. Highly recommended!
I recently stayed at the University Plaza Waterfront Hotel with a very large legal team. The hotel staff was really accommodating and helpful, even when we had special needs. We had asked for extra workspace and suite space for our team, and we were well taken care of. The professionalism of the hotel showed. In addition, the restaurant had a reliable menu of varied options, and the bar was good enough that we ran up a sizeable tab. The location is convenient to the courthouse and other downtown amenities.
This hotel was really great for our family to stay at along with our team for a baseball tournament. We hung out and played in the grass area by the pool for hours. The staff at the restuarant/ bar was wonderful. We loved that it was right next door to the arena and we took in an impromptu hockey match. The gym had what I needed, however one treadmill was out of service. The only issue we had was with the mattresses. The whole bed moved when you move. I would definitely stay here again though.
First time staying here. Check in was a breeze. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Rooms were decent. Being a tall man the toilets were to short in height. I wonder how disabled people use these toilets. The bathroom entrance door was also something I didnt like. It wasn't a solid door. It was more like a window door that had frost film over the glass. Even though it did offer some privacy it felt weird seeing a silhouette on the other end. Parking was free , however, it wasn't enough to accommodate all types of vehicles. Larger vehicles where double parked or taking 2 stalls since it was very cramped. The hotel was clean.
Everything that is in the hotel's control is excellent. The hotel was clean. The staff were very courteous and accommodating. A nice plus was having a large fridge/freezer and microwave in the room. Shout out to the cleaning staff because our room was spotless and didn't have a weird smell that typically is present in most hotel rooms. The unfortunate part is that this hotel is in a run-down area. The staff does the best that they can to manage it with security and video surveillance. The fact is that if you could pick up this hotel, staff included with their excellent work ethic, and move it to a better area, it would be a hotel deserving of five stars.
Nice rooms, very clean and quiet. Nice staff. (No continental breakfast and finding the ice dispenser was a challenge.)
Nice place VERY clean; Covid-clean. Friendly staff also. Quiet environment. Room decor is nice also.
Great price point on a beautiful location. We even got an early check in! Room was comfortable, very clean amd well kept! The atmosphere was clean as clean could be. Staff were helpful and attentive.
If anyone is searching for bargain deals for hotels go over to ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ reserved a hotel room on there and these guys had the best rates anywhere! One of the nicest hotels in Stockton. It is very clean, and the staff are great. They are doing well with practicing social distancing. I really enjoyed my stay, and will return once the pool reopens after the pandemic.

First off it's a nice hotel. There is no breakfast and the only way up to the rooms is through the lobby. The rooms are pretty small and the AC only went to 68 but was still really hot in our room. Also the parking is a cross the street. I dont really think this is a 4 star hotel to be honest or that it was worth the price I paid.
Staff is very friendly, I needed to stay more days than originally planned, and they helped me extend my stay. Would definitely come back. The room was very spacious for me and my pup, very clean as well. Loved the patio since everything else was closed, was able to enjoy a couple meals and drinks or just lounge around after work.
The hotel has a decent rate, but the rooms were quite small. The shower was probably the nicest part of the room; the bed was uncomfortable and small vertically. The outside area looked spacious and beautiful, but unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to lounge there. 6/10, would stay again if I needed to be in the specific area.
Pet friendly hotel with amazing accomadations. The beds were pretty hard but were perfect for what was needed.

Very good hotel, nicely decorated, great room and ambiance. Modern look, just wish you had a covered parking lot and more secure looking parking lot.
Incredibly clean, very well set up to distance people. Excellent new security to keep the crackheads out of the hotel and parking lot. Police making rounds in the area quite often. Very very nice rooms and hotel overall. Probably the nicest hotel in all of Stockton
I like to do my jogging around the water that's how I get my exercise so I enjoy going there from time to time getting my exercise
Nice hotel, parking isn't great or very safe for business travel (equipment), but they were awesome and let us store our equipment inside.
ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS PLACE.... ABSOLUTELY NO NEGATIVE REMARKS FROM ME.... HUUUUUUUGE CLEAN ROOMS, SECLUDED AND QUITE, ROOMS HAVE BEAUTIFUL BIG HIGH BEDS WITH 6 PILLOWS ON EACH BED....AND THE BATHROOM WAS IMMACULATE WITH BIG FLUFFY TOWELS AND BIG BOTTLES OF HYGIENE AND GLAS SHOWER DOORS..!!!! WILL DEFINITELY BE STAYING HERE AGAIN AND ALSO GET'S MY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE..!!!! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I didn't go there but I have been there before it is a very beautiful place inside very big and the people seem very nice.
The room was clean and very nicely filled with all the aniemities, fridge, clock, clean towels, and very impressive. Please note though because of Covid-019 the dinner and bar were closed so to enjoy the back dinning area and yard is boring till we open back up.
Relaxing I feel so alone in my life right at this point of my life . When have no kids no one to talk to. IT'S NOT A GOOD FEELING I JUST DON'T WANT TO BE HERE ANYMORE..
The hotel itself was very nice; room was clean. The courtyard was a lot of fun to enjoy but leaving 3 stars because we were informed at check-in none of the amenities were available! We travel full time for work and rely on hotel gyms, laundry and computers (hence why we even booked a hotel.) I understand this is the covid policy but I have stayed at multiple hotels where you could safely still enjoy things like the pool + gym and restaurant.
If had so much space and a nice pool and back yard to henge out in if you want to see the lake
The room was a little small but cute. The pool area was amazing, and the food and drinks were reasonably priced. Will definitely be back!
What a great place to go to. Even though we dont stay there, we go to have some dinner and couple drinks.Food is always delicious, the chefs sure know how to cook and the bartender Kris is always making us feel welcome and he's really accommodating. They have a beautiful patio with plenty seating. If your in town, want to grab some delicious food and drinks and even need to stay a night some where stop by you won't be disappointed.
Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms and the grounds. The surrounding area is so-so and this hotel is certainly a cut above. Staff are awesome, loved this place. Would definitely stay here again.
This place used to be 5 ⭐️ but this past weekend didn’t feel like a 5 ⭐️ stay. Not as clean as I recall. If the cleaning people lost their job due to the pandemic I strongly urge the Waterfront rehire them! It reeked of smoke and although there are plenty of signs that are posted I witnessed many guests not adhering by them. I am hoping that this is just a one time experience and the Waterfront can get back to the spotless Waterfront I remember! Fortunately I will not be back in Stockton anytime soon.
The hotel staff were great and very understanding when we asked to switch rooms (tv broken, room was far from elevator). The two double bed rooms we had were well furnished, clean and not crowded. The view of the waterfront is gorgeous. We were disappointed that none of our reservation information informed us that because of CA pandemic restrictions the pool and most amenities would be closed. We were also quite taken aback by the parking situation. Spaces were all compact/tight, and by late evening on the weekends, they were extremely limited. Worse of all, there wasn't a true security presence in the guest lot (that we saw) leading to scary situations. One morning we found a gift card shoved in our rental car door as if someone was trying to get in. Another evening we smelt and saw a van of people smoking crack. Obviously guest/public behavior isn't always something a hotel can account for but it was troubling that their only solution was the threat of towing.
Had a great stay. They claim incidentals fee will be refunded within 3-10 business days which I think is a little much, but the hotel is clean, and affordable and right across from the waterfront park which is great when events are being held as you can sit out at the pool and enjoy the music and scene. There are little convenience stores nearby which make purchasing incidentals easy. Overall a nice hotel in downtown for an event or for just being in town.
Room was nice enough. Courtyard very nice. BUT.... NO coffee except in room. Ugh. Restaurant not open on weekends or limited or something.
Needs to a better job cleaning floors and curtains. Old food or some type of cream left on the curtains in the room. Found old hair and other items on the floor upon arrival.
