Located in Lincoln Center, Midgley’s Public House offers an exciting, culinary experience serving American-fusion small plates/shared food, paired with spirits and fine wine. Cooking since the age of fourteen, Chef Michael Midgley is bringing his culinary talents to Lincoln Center. And it won’t be subtle if we take into consideration his nationally recognized awards. "My wife Laci and I gave ‘Midgley’s Public House’ a great deal of thought before we made the decision to move forward. Lincoln Center is the perfect place for us to realize this dream,” states Chef Midgley.
Chef Midgley has made a name for himself in the culinary world. He attended California Culinary Academy in San Francisco and was most recently the Executive Chef at Ernie’s Food and Spirits in Manteca. His big and vivacious personality expands way beyond San Joaquin County. He has appeared as a contestant on Bravo television’s “Top Chef” and was the top winner of Food Network’s “Cut Throat Kitchen”. As he reached ‘celebrity chef’ status, he has appeared as a judge on Esquire network’s “Knife Fight” and Bravo’s “Top Chef Masters.”
Right now his celebrity chef status will take a back burner to his passion to open this restaurant – and his passion to serve great food! Involved in every detail of the design of the restaurant to the savory selections on the menu, the opening of Midgely’s Public House in not only a dream, it will soon be a reality. Chef Midgley and his wife Laci reside in Stockton with their three children.

I first visited Midgley's about a year and a half ago on a busy day. My company took a few coworkers and I out to a complimentary lunch. The sun was out so they had there side doors open. The environment was wonderful and the food was even better. The waitress was extremely attentive and completely sold me on the restaurant. Don't get me wrong the food is a little pricey but you are definitely paying for the quality and service. If you can not afford a $50 steak they have $40 three course meals every week. The steak is a pretty popular recurring one. I have been at least 7 times since then. I go every time with my partner whenever we have a little extra money than usual. My go to meals are the rib eye steak, or the tomahawk pork chop during the spring menu when it comes with the brown sugar and Fiji apples. They have the creamiest mashed potatoes and the best asparagus even though they're a little small. I have a reservation tomorrow and I can not wait. I 100% recommend anyone to at least try. Midgley's if you want a high end restaurant or even a bar to hang out at. If you do plan on visiting just make sure to make a reservation because they don't typically except walk ins unless you are at the bar. Below are some pictures from my different visits.
Excellent place! My friend and I have tried both going at night and during the day, and I must say, we're hooked 😆. I'm sure there's tons of other great places to go here in Stockton, but we'll have to check them out later, because this one's our favorite! Excellent food, cocktails and of course the service which for me is the most important!
Love the food, delicious. Outside seats, nice and relaxing at that time Host seated us and made sure the drip from the mist line was not getting us wet, appreciated that. Must try the ahi nachos if you like tuna/poke. Efficient server got us our food, would go again.
Everything was excellent my wife and I came for lunch we ordered a cheeseburger with fries, barrel smoked new york steak tacos and some clam chowder with a side of garlic bread also customer service was very good thanks
There are only a few times that food brings a smile to my face, but Midgley's is now part of that group. Amazing portions with equal flavor. The ribeye tomahawk is a ridiculous 48 oz beast, and a modern food marvel.
Amazing hands on service. They went the extra mile to make our party happy. Special requests from the kitchen? No problem. Best wedge salad Ive ever had. Choice produce. Attentive staff.
This spot is truly a gem! Whether you're looking for the perfect date night spot to impress or a fun lunch or happy hour out they have you covered. Make sure to check their social media weekly for lunch specials and dinner specials that always impress. Some of my favorite lunch specials they do are the Thanksgiving Sandwich, Chicken and Dumplings, some amazing burgers, and even Cincinnati Style Chili! The dinner specials are always a great deal and whether you go with something on their special menu or on the regular menu you're in for a treat. They also have a great Happy Hour during the week from 3-6pm where you can get 1/2 off appetizers and enjoy drink specials BUT this is on one side of the restaurant only and it fills up fast! If you do snag a table make sure to order the poutine, it is amazing!
Nice atmosphere and super attentive service. The meals were crisp and enchanting. Will definitely recommend this place to friends and family. Reasonable rates and large meals. Keep up the great work.
This is a delicious place to dine! The food was excellent. I would have showed photos but was too hungry. But believe that this is worth trying!
I had to send my burger back do to being to rare. First time I have ever sent anything back, they were so nice. The best fries I have ever had. They have so much more than burgers too
Favorite Restaurant in Stockton hands down. Food is amazing. Nice bar and patio area. Place is 10 Stars
My first time...great food and the customer service!!! They care about is staying safe. Bartender!! You were awesome...thank you my dear!!
Our visit to Midgley’s Public House was wonderful. Great atmosphere and our waitress was great. I ordered the Chili Salmon and Prawns and this place did not let me down... great flavors. My wife ordered the MPH Salad and it looked great with lots of meat cheese and greens... this is a great tasting salad. My son ordered Tri-Tip burger and it was Big.... just like the pictures online. The flavor with and without the BBQ sauce is perfect. I will definitely return for a great meal and great staff.
I just loved their dishes. I always get good service here. The place is always clean and the workers are always super friendly. Will visit here again.
Solid place for food and drink. Many of the appetizers are too rich for me, but I’m sure many folks love them. Entrees have been mostly good. Drinks are solid. Craft beer selection has always been good, they have the foreign owned normal beers but they always have a couple local craft beers as well.
We arrived at this spot for lunch. my friend recommended this spot. Well, we were not disappointed. we were warmly welcomed by the staff members and we felt very good. The food was just great. We had a great time and we will definitely return to this restaurant. we highly recommend this place.
It's literally a 4 star restaurant. I wanted to take my date to a place to impress and Midgley's fit the bill. The cream cheese filled asparagus cigars were amazing. I had the ribeye, she had the filet mignon. Both cooked exactly how we ordered them. Portion are generous. With two entrees, an app, two ice teas, and tip, the entire meal cost 145.00. Oh yeah, I got a second date..Maybe it was me, or more likely the filet mignon. Either way, Midgley's outdoor dining set up was still fun, elegant and service is A+
One of the top 5 places in town. Fine dining. Food and service to impress.
last night was our first time we went to this good restaurant. But It is obviously not the last. We had great time with the courteous service, with the first-rate meal and booze and with the modest payment. We will absolutely visit there in a short time.
We arrived at this restaurant for a meeting. we heard about this place from quite a few people. Well, it was very successful. The crew welcomed us with a smile and we felt fantastic. The meal was tasty. We loved this restaurant a lot and we will visit this place again. Warmly recommended.
Jayce and Hailey are the best in the business when it comes to tending bar. The most incredible staff and a short menu to die for! 8 system tap with MASSIVE custom cocktails. I come here regularly. AHI NACHOS AND FRIED AVOCADOS ARE AMAZING. Steaks cooked medium with potatoes and asparagus cannot go wrong. Thank you Mike, thank you staff. You guys are the best!!!!
Happy hour on point. Food is good, staff is even better. All around solid place.
We met with friends at this place for lunch. we heard about this place from a lot of people. Well, it was very nice. The staff members were extremely nice and we felt good. The food was just great. We had a great time and we shall absolutely come back again. We recommend this place to all.
Need vegetarian/vegan dinner options.. my friends were happy with their food (meats) so 4 stars.. minus 1 star because I was unable to order an actual meal and had to nibble veg appetizers.. vegetarians/vegans don't eat only salad😂 Everytime they go out.. (beyond burger was not on the menu, despite the menu photo here showing it. It must be old)
Amazing food and atmosphere! We were able have our doggies on the patio for happy hour and were able to order burger patties for them. Awesome!!
This was our first visit, and the only reason we drove from Modesto, Ca., to Stockton, they were the only ones offering in door dinning. I am happy we did, because this place is good. I recommend the tomahawk steak, it is delicious. Their pineapple cider tap beer is delicious, I have tasted this kind of beer before, and their mud pie is rich and delicious. It's busy here, so if you don't want to wait, make a reservation. Which we did not wait long at all. Our server was great, she was covering a large area, but still gave us what we asked for.

We went there a week later, and the hostest that was there treated us so badly, we left. She acted like she was on some molly's or something, just down right rude.
For being in Lincoln village, having the reputation as a shopping center of the more wealthy, the restaurant did not fair well with my party. Pricing was beyond reasonable for the meals and menu options. To note, they added gratuity to our table of 6 which is unlikely for most restaurants, although we did offer a cash tip as well. Some of the wait staff were arrogant and inattentive. It's not as though we needed to be entertained, but more so to feel like our buisness was appreciated for a simple lunch commune with family would have been a pleasure. If there was one thing to enjoy here it was the open patio and outdoor seating.
This our favorite restaurant in this whole area. The atmosphere is casual, but the food is terrific. The steaks and salmon are particularly tasty. The bread is warm and fresh. All the service people are friendly and helpful. Jerrod is the manager, and keeps everything running smoothly. Wine by the glass is reasonable, and the selection is well throughout. There is ample parking in the area.
Had a lovely time finally able to dine indoors. Our host could've been a little more welcoming but the food was good. My wife found a piece of foil in her mashed potatoes which was strange and they did bother to comp us for it. Other than that, I still would recommend.
Great drinks and friendly bartender. I was pleasantly greeted although I had lost my mask in the great fire of 2020. I look forward to transferring my drinking habit when in town to this accepting and clear thinking establishment.
This place was phenomenal. Ordered a 14 oz ribeye it was like melted butter. The fried asparagus was amazing and the ahi tuna nachos was superb. (I don't do seafood) it was delicious. This is a BIG TIME RECOMMEND! Service was amazing as well!!we had a party of 11.
It's what you expect a pleasant "drinks and appetizers" place to be! I would say reasonably priced, clean and welcoming. Expect to spend 20-30 dollars if you aren't hungry.
I love the crab cakes and lobster bisque soup!!!! The tomahawk steak is just enough for 2 to share. Environment is very laid back and service is quick.
Enjoyed a nice night out in finding this gem of a restaurant. The food was outstanding. We had the pork chops and the chicken fettuccine pesto with pine nuts. Four stars as the kitchen was a little slow tonight.
Just had appetizers. Food was pretty tasty. I was more impressed with the service. Shalena was really awesome and on point like a laser!
