Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and if you haven’t made any plans, you might want to get on it. There are many fun ways in Stockton, California to celebrate the occasion. Whether you are celebrating with your special someone, friends, or family, here are a few ideas to give a try.

1. Do Dinner, of course!

Make reservations at one of Stockton's delicious dining destinations. Here’s just a count of a few local favorites, but if you are looking to kick it up a notch, be certain to make your reservation early!

Make sure to call ahead if you want dinner reservations on Valentine's Day at these romantic restaurants listed below.

  • Bud's Seafood Grille. Residing in Lincoln Center, Bud's Seafood Grille offers delicious cuisine from the ocean for your coastal appetite. Whether it's their coconut-crusted Mahi Mahi with coconut cream sauce, the Chicken Marsala topped with their homemade Marsala wine sauce, or a delicious bread bowl of Clam Chowder, Bud's is a great seafood choice for your Valentine's dinner.

  • Mezzo. A casual environment located on Brookside off March Lane, Mezzo cooks up a delicious menu combining Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. For Valentine's, they're serving a three-course meal that lets you choose from Mary's airline chicken with mushroom risotto, porcini mushroom ravioli, pan-seared scallops ith red wine reduction, or surf and turf filet and shrimp.
  • David's Pizza. Located in Lincoln Center and on Hammer Lane, David's is serving up their special heart-shaped pizza for you to share with your valentine.
  • Papapavlo's Bistro & Bar. Well known for their continental cuisine with a Mediterranean flair, Papapavlo's Valentine's menu (Friday through Monday) is serving up three delicious menu choices - including roast Angus sirloin, New York Steak, and filet & lobster!
  • FED. This new spot is located directly in front of the courthouse and features a delicious lineup of American cuisine. Tasty choices like the FED burger, filet mignon, ribeye, cheesesteak sandwich, and more await your visit. For Valentine's reservations (Thursday through Monday), they'll be serving up their decadent dragon fruit margarita.
  • Midgley's Public House. Setting its foundation at Lincoln Center in 2014, Midgley's has been the home for American-fusion cuisine paired with fine wine and spirits. Their special Valentine's Day menu is available by clicking here.
  • Mountain Mike's. This delicious pizza franchise is offering up their traditional heart-shaped pizza for Valentine's Day, and you can pick it up at either of the three locations in Stockton: Robin Hood Drive, Wilson Way, and Country Club Blvd.

  • Sorelle Winery. From its cozy boutique tasting room to its stunning historic Dodge House. You will feel welcomed and comforted by its rustic appeal. This winery speaks romance at first sight! No wonder it hosts dozens of weddings each year. It is tucked away along the two-lane curves of Highway 88, and did we say the wines are fantastic? Tasting hours vary, so call ahead!
  • Gnekow Family Winery. A short drive from Stockton, this is a terrific place to relax with your sweetheart. This impressive family winery blends old and new world techniques in a state-of-the-art facility. Don’t forget to try their 2015 Old Vine Zinfandel or other unexpected flavors such as Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. Their tasting room and gift shop are open daily from 11 am to 5 pm.
  • Calivirgin Olive Oil & Calivines Winery. Just off I-5 & Hwy 12, this spot offers a beautiful new tasting room where visitors can enjoy their amazing olive oil AND wine during a joint tasting. The delicious pairing options they offer while in a chill environment surrounded by the abundance of vineyards is definitely a romantic setting you'll love.

  • Ghostlight. This intimate setting located on the Miracle Mile is the new venue providing a stage for music, theatre, and many other live performances. For Valentine's evening (Monday night), Ghostlight presents "An Evening of Music," featuring a live performance from the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music.
  • Take 5 Jazz. Located inside Valley Brewing Company along Stockton's Miracle Mile, this jazz club features the best in local jazz by regional artists, courtesy of the Brubeck Institute and University of the Pacific's Conservatory of Music. You will experience a welcoming atmosphere, where you can unwind, and get your jazz fix. Why not dance the night away for Valentine's Day?! The Arthur Murray Dance Studio is offering some special dance events for both couples and singles to enjoy. On the Friday night before Valentine's Day, they'll be holding the Guest Open House -Singles Soiree, where singles from our community can get their groove on together for a fun and positive energy-filled evening. Then, it's time for Couples Night on Monday (Valentine's night), where couples enjoy a special Latino dance night at the studio. The class is $20 with strawberries and champagne provided for the romantic evening. Whether you're dancing with the love of your life, a close friend, or just looking to meet someone to mingle and dance with, this studio has you covered for V-Day.

In between those dancing escapades, you can stretch and sweat out some toxins by attending the Let's Celebrate Love event at The Catalyst on Saturday, February 12 from 6 - 8 pm. Yoga teacher Tina Zook will be in attendance for a night of meditation, sound healing, heart-opening, yoga poses, desserts, wine, and more. Doors open at 5:30 pm.
